Asteria had been wondering camp since the group had arrived - she had changed into the camp uniform before showering
"Asteria you're back" Luke greeted in disbelief "Shut up you knew i was coming back" She joked playfully as Luke smiled "Not even a hug?" He asked as Asteria rolled her eyes hugging her brother
"How'd it go?" He asked referring to the quest "Besides the fact i almost died a couple of times, it was okay" She admitted fidgeting with her necklace "A couple of times?" Luke was in disbelief "Yeah." She muttered
"Asteria, you know when i saw you guys through the ethereal" Luke began clearly forcing himself to continue talking "Percy- he mentioned dad, what was that about?" Luke shook is head but he needed to know
"We saw dad at the lotus hotel, Percy was going to tell you im guessing" She recalled the truck ride "So you saw him?" He asked, it seemed like he was thinking of multiple things "I had no choice Luke, you can't blame me." She murmured she didn't want Luke to be mad, when she had just gotten there
"I don't blame you Asteria, but did he ask about me?" Luke seemed genuine for once, his voice wasn't laced with hurt like it usually was
"He did, he asked how you were. And that he missed seeing us" She looked Luke in the eyes for the first time, his gaze had darkened "It's gonna stay that way. Did he hurt you? or say anything?" Luke became protective
"No he didn't do anything to me, he just talked to me. It was awkward but he seemed genuine like he missed me."
"There's a reason we don't talk to him." Luke's voice was deep, Asteria knew their dad's absence also bothered Luke "He mentioned her didn't he?" Luke's tone startled her, he was referring to their mother
"Yes." Her voice was just above a whisper, Luke's fist curled up "When i see Dad, im seriously-" He was bothered by this "Stop! Luke just stop!" His face dropped realizing what he had just done
"Fuck Asteria, i didn't mean it" He lied. "It's fine Luke. Forget about it, i would react the same way if i was you." She lied. They're both liars after all.
"Did you confront Clarisse about the bolt?" She asked, not wanting to mention the bolt. "No not yet." He admitted, getting up from the bunk. Asteria got up turning her head hearing people cheering from outside "Percy's probably back" Luke shrugged, leading them out of Hermes cabin
Asteria stepped outside, from afar she met Annabeth's gaze. She was staring at the sibling pair. Asteria knew, Luke hadn't talked to Annabeth since they got back. "Quit staring at people" He warned jokingly before crossing his arms.
"I'll be back" She spoke, as Luke nodded letting his sister walk away.
The blonde boy walked towards them, Annabeth quickly hugged the boy - It seemed like Percy tried to let go but Annabeth didn't budge "Do you see her yet?" Annabeth questioned loud enough for Asteria to hear "Clarisse" She clarified - Percy looked around for Clarisse who seemed clearly mad
"Why is she-" He began "Dont say anything. I'll explain" She knew Annabeth was still clinging on to Percy so it wouldn't seem suspicious speaking to him
Asteria shifted uncomfortably until Percy let go and hugged Asteria tightly - "Im guessing it went well?" She whispered into his shoulder feeling him nod slightly- Percy let of her but kept an arm around Asteria.
Luke came walking towards them. Asteria felt Percy's arm slip away. "Come on guys" Annabeth spoke, she had alot of explaining to do. She led the group to an empty cabin.
"Clarisse stole the master bolt" Percy started talking, as Luke looked over at Asteria who looked back automatically. "It's complicated." Annabeth argued
"How is it complicated?" Percy asked still confused. Luke looked around making sure no one was near them "Everyone was ready to join the war here. To start fighting eachother. An accusation against Clarisse-" Luke began admitting
"Without proof." The girls budge in "No proof against her, it probably wouldve turned this whole place upside down." Asteria realized "Exactly" Luke agreed with both of them.
"Without proof, it would have lit this whole place on fire. But now you're back. You've stopped the war. You've saved the world."
"Now, it's safe to tell Chiron and finish cleaning up the mess. I told him we needed to meet him away from the celebration. So we can talk without any of Clarisse's supporters noticing."
"I'll keep an eye on Clarisse while you're gone. Making sure she isn't going anywhere" Annabeth spit out catching Asteria off guard "Great. And we'll meet back here."
"What about me?" Asteria questioned not knowing who to follow "Don't think i forgot about you. Annabeth you can go, and Percy ill meet you there" Luke said as they both walked out
"Just go with Annabeth, then go and find me. Okay?" He asked putting a hand on her shoulder "Okay." She trusted him. "See you soon."
