The next morning Luxx and Blair attended training.
"Stay by me."Blair said
"I'll be fine Blair I don't need your help."Luxx said
"Alright Luxx, but I'll be keeping an eye out for you."Blair said
Atala the head trainer then went over the basics. Then the tributes dispersed. Luxx went over to the knives and sat down. Luxx used his hands to feel around the seven knives that were in front of him. Luxx picked up each knife and felt the weight distribution. Luxx also felt how sharp each blade was and how long it was. While Luxx was doing so the careers were talking.
"Hah! Get a load of this!"Paris said
"It's the blind kid eh, look, Razor."Caspian said
"What about him?"Razor asked as he threw a knife and looked back at them
"He's picking up knives, I wonder if he actually thinks he'll be able to use them in the arena."Athena said
"Sad, kid is gonna die the second he raises."Chanel said as she walked away with a sword in hand "Aye! Four let's spare."She said to district four girl
"Guys relax, he might have a chance."Razor said
"HAHAHA! That's a good one Razor!"Paris said
"I was, being serious, careers don't win every year."Razor reminded him
"What are you? Some outlier?"Caspian asked
"Says the literal outlier. You're lucky you're a career or your ass probably would've died at corn."Razor snapped back "And you still can."He said with a smirk
"Wanna bet?"Caspian asked as he stepped to Razor
There was a height difference between the two. It was slightly funny, but Athena quickly stepped between the two.
"You think I'm scared to break the no fighting in the training center rule? I'll slit your throat before you can even reach your weapon."Razor said
"Try it bastard."Caspian hissed
"Hey now C, you don't wanna test Razor."Athena said "Let's just leave it at that."She said
"Yeah, you two cut it out."Paris said "No fighting remember."He said
Razor smirked and turned to walk away. The second Athena moved from in front of Caspian, Razor turned around and launched a knife at Caspians forehead. The knife slashed right across his forehead.
"AH!"Caspian yelled as the force of the knife threw his head back causing him to hit the ground.
"Oops, didn't see him standing there."Razor said
"YOU SON OF A-"
"What's going on over here why is he bleeding?!"Atala snapped as she walked over to the scene
"It was an accident, Razor didn't see him Miss."Paris said
"Better have been an accident, take him to first-aid."Atala said "And Razor, you stay away from the weapons until lunch, you can proceed to the weapons after."She said
"Got it Miss."Razor smirked
Athena and Paris took Caspian to first-aid while Razor looked around. Razor walked over to Luxx and sat beside him. Razor stayed quiet for a while until Luxx spoke up.
"You know I know you're there right?"Luxx asked
"Caught me."Razor said
"Why are you over here Razor? Aren't you a career?"Luxx asked rhetorically
"How'd you..."Razor asked as his sentence trailed off
"Like I always say, hearing is one of the best senses to have."Luxx said
"I see you examining those knives, are you any good with them?"Razor asked
"Little bit, better than people think."Luxx said
"Let's go test it out then."Razor said
"Alrighty."Luxx said as he followed behind Razor
Luxx stood in front of the knife throwing station and held three knives. Luxx didn't know but everyone in the training center turned their attention towards him. Luxx waited patiently. Luxx waited for the mannequin to make a noise when it lights up and when it did he turned and released the knife with all his strength. It was slightly off center but still lethal. Luxx then threw the other two knives at the other targets. The last one wasn't as good as the other two but it was still pretty decent. When Luxx finished everyone started whispering to one another.
"How'd I do? I mean I heard how I did but just confirming."Luxx said
"You hit every target, but the last one was a little off."Razor said
"Interesting."Luxx said as he walked away
Razor followed behind him. "Where you going?"He asked
"Nature section, also question, why are you following me? Shouldn't you be with your career group?"Luxx asked
"Yeah but I-"Razor was interrupted by Chanel
"Razor come on! We're about to start a drill!"Chanel yell
"You can go do career stuff, don't be bothered by an outlier that might not even make it past cornucopia."Luxx said as he walked away
