It was Belly's birthday today and I was going over for her birthday brunch. This is the first year I had been invited to the annual birthday brunch, so I was a little excited.

I walked into their house and immediately smelled bacon. "Hey happy birthday!" I said as I saw Belly round the corner, "Hey! I'm so glad you could come!" "I wouldn't miss it." I smiled at her and I followed her into the kitchen.

Susannah had a stack of pancakes shaped like Mickey Mouse on a plate, along with eggs, fruit and bacon. I love meals at the Fishers.

Steven and Conrad were already sat at the table ready to dig in. "Hello Kirsten! You looked beautiful as always." Susannah said as she put another plate of pancakes on the counter. "Everything looks so delicious!" I complimented.

That's when I felt two arms wrap around me from behind, it could only be one person. "Hi," Jeremiah said releasing me from his grasp. "Hi," I said as he snuck a quick peck on my lips. He grabbed my hand and guided me to the table and sat me down right next to him.

Breakfast was really good! Everyone was having a good time laughing and wishing Belly happy birthdays. One thing that was weird...Conrad was no where to be seen. After our talk at the party the other night I thought for sure him and Belly would have made up.

"Where's Conrad?" I whispered to Jere, "No idea," He said. "Does he know it's Belly's birthday?" "I don't know." He paused and gave me a questioning look, "Why do you care so much about Conrad?"

Aah, my jealous Jere bear.

"Because Conrad and Belly are like in love and he should be here." He released a laugh realizing now this is about Belly and not me. "That is very true. I'm not surprised though he's been MIA all summer." I nodded in agreement.

"Well shall we open presents?" Susannah said with a smile. We all wandered over to the living room and Belly took a seat on the couch and we all crowded around her. I stayed standing because all of the seats were taken, I didn't mind though.

As Belly opened her first present Jere said, "Do you want my seat?" He looked up at me and was about to stand up, "No, I'm good I promise." "Are you sure?" "Yeah!" I nodded. He grabbed my hand and pulled me onto his lap.

I giggled, "I guess this works." "This works for me too."

Belly was opening all of our presents and she got to mine, I got her a cute shirt she wanted a while ago when we went shopping. I shifted my position on Jere's lap and handed her my present. I felt Jere take a deep breath and then he rested his hands on my waist.

I think I know what's going on. I smiled and shifted my position again and again and again.

"Oh my goodness! Thank you so much Kirsten!" Belly beamed, "Of course." "I love it!" "I'm glad you like it!" I said shifting my position once again. It was driving Jeremiah crazy.

Jere leaned towards my ear, "You have to stop." He whispered which sent chills throughout my body. "Or what?" I whispered back. He stared at me as I felt his hand slowly run up my thigh. For a moment I forgot that we weren't alone.

We got shook out of our trance when the front door opened and Conrad appeared. All heads turned towards him. "Hey Connie, come in here we are opening presents!" Susannah cheered. Conrad hesitated and reached for his pocket and then said, "Oh uh...sorry I forgot. Happy birthday Belly." Then he went upstairs.

I looked over towards Belly and she looked so sad. I wasn't sure how to help her. "Hey why don't we go driving?" Susannah said to her. "Really!" "Yeah, let's go" She said standing up with Belly. She seemed to forget about Conrad once Susannah mentioned driving.
