Kinsley jumped slightly in surprise, startled by the sound of the metal clanking, completely forgetting that it was restock day as if she hadn't been in the glade for almost 3 years. She groaned as she stood up, her fairly long raven hair cascading down her back as she began making her way towards the box.

"He looks like a slopper to me." "I could use some help in the kitchen." Voices gossiped as they inspected the greenie and his confused expression. "Pipe it down and let him take it all in." Kinsley ordered, the voices dimming down immediately after.

Before anyone could even react the greenie had dashed off, his dark hair blowing away from his face from the slight breeze as he sprinted away, not even sure himself of where he was or where he was heading too. "Hey, we got a runner!" Multiple yelled whereas others cheered him on due to his impressive running skills.

Kinsley narrowed her eyes slightly, watching as the new greenie raced away from the gladers, fairly impressed by the speed he ran at, or at least until he splatted face first into the ground, causing the whole group of gladers to burst out in blaring laughters.

"That's quite a first impression he just made." Both Kinsley and Newt laughed at Newt's comment. "He has potential though, to be a runner at least." Kinsley shrugged. "Well until he completely face planted." Newt joked.

The greenie rose to his feet, circling around his surroundings, the bewildered expression still evident on his face as he inspected the stone walls surrounding the glade as the others continued cheering and laughing.

"Let's get back to your weapon work." Newt and Kinsley made their way back to where they were previously.

It only took the greenie an hour or so to be released. Kinsley watched both him and Alby stroll down the glade as she continued to master yet another bow.

"We eat here. We sleep here. We grow our own food and build our own shelter." Alby stated as the two walked, observing the others working at their 'jobs'. "Whatever we need, the box provides. The rest is up to us." Alby says. "The box?" The greenie squints his eyes as he turns to look at the place he last remembers being. "Yeah it's sent up here once a month with fresh supplies and a greenie, this month that's you." Alby points to the greenie. "Congratulations." He jokes. "Set up by who? Who put us here?" The greenie turned to the two. "That we don't know." Alby sighed.

Kinsley continued to stare at the two, the attention to her bow had vanished and her concentration was fully on Alby and the new greenie, she couldn't help but admire him. Kinsley had never liked any of the other gladers, well except for Minho for a little bit but come on, who wouldn't have a crush on him?

Kinsley remained her concentration on the greenie as he listened to Alby give him an explanation of what happens in the glade. Until Newt jogs up to the two, joking about the greenie's first impression to the gladers with his running off then face planting act. Kinsley couldn't help but smile at the joke as she tried to continue working on her signature carvings.

The greenie inspected his surroundings once more, taking in everything and everyone around him, a million thoughts running through his head, most of which being questions until he had caught a glimpse of a girl, Kinsley. She had been working on her bow again, scraping off unneeded pieces of wood on her bow, putting all her effort into it, the greenie couldn't help but stare at her, her sable hair, her soft olive skin and the smile she had given herself when the carving was nearly completed.

When Kinsley finally looked up, she met eyes with the greenie and when she had, it felt as though she had met him before, she ridiculed the idea though of course since she didn't remember him but she couldn't help but wonder - did he think the same about her?

The greenie stared back at Kinsley, the voices of Alby and Newt talking had faded completely and the it felt to him as though he knew her although he couldn't understand as to why he felt that way, he didn't know her or her name but it felt as if he had, he couldn't help himself but wonder - did she think the same about him?

"Greenie? Green Bean?" Alby spoke to the greenie, snapping the greenie back to focus on the world around him. "You good?" Alby narrowed his eyes. "Yeah." The greenie nodded.

"Hey Kins." Chuck spoke as he walked up to the girl. "Have you been promoted yet?" She asked, looking up to the boy who was evidently a few years younger. "Yeah, i'm gonna give the new greenie a tour." He smiled happily. "Ayy! Congrats! " Kinsley cheered him on as the two laughed. "Anyways, I better get going." He waved goodbye. "See you Chuck" "See you Kinsley." The two split paths as Kinsley made her way to Minho and Ben who had just came out of the maze, near to where the greenie and Chuck were.

Chuck and the greenie had had strolled towards the maze at the greenie's sudden action due to his impulsive thoughts. "Hey Chuck. How's it feel to be promoted?" Ben asked as he jogged alongside Minho. "Feels great Ben." Chuck answered with a wide smile on his face, sending Ben a thumbs up with his right hand.

"I thought no one was allowed to leave." The greenie asked, bewildered. "I said we're not allowed to leave, they're different, they're runners." Chuck explained. "They know more about the maze than anyone." Chuck sighed, turning around to look at Ben, Minho and Kinsley who were huddled around, talking. The greenie's expression changed. "Wait what?" He asked. "What?" Chuck shrugged in confusion. "You just said maze." The greenie announced. "I-I did?" Chuck stuttered in regret. "Yeah." The greenie said in an almost whisper.

With determination in his eyes, the greenie took confident steps towards the entrance of the maze. He was curious to discover as to why the maze was off-limits to everyone except the runners. As he approached the entrance at a fairly fast pace, he suddenly felt a large pair of hands shove him aggressively from his right, causing him to stumble and fall to the ground.

Startled, the greenie quickly turned around to see who had interrupted his progress. A crowd quickly gathered around with Kinsley arriving shortly after due to the commotion, hoping to catch a glimpse of what had just happened. The maze's massive doors closed right before their eyes, sealing off any chance of entry. Gally, standing with his arms crossed. "Next time, I might just let you have a go," he spat out, before turning away and walking off.

The greenie wiped the dry dirt of his clothes as Kinsley walked up to him. "You really don't care about breaking the rules do you?" Kinsley asked with a small grin. "I just want to know why i'm here." The greenie pleaded. "Trust me, i've been here asking myself that exact same question for almost 3 years." She chuckled. "We don't know if there's even any chance of a good life for us outside that maze, we're all here for a reason, I don't wanna accept it either but we can't risk another war in this glade." Kinsley sighed. "Try not break any more rules greenie, I don't wanna have to kick your ass." She laughed before walking off. "I'll see you around Green bean." She smiled as the two of them turned around to look at each other once more.
