Part 3: Confusion

I know it's been a long time since I published anything on wattpad but hoping that I can update this consistently using the ideas I have.

It's 2am on the same night and Rishi is unable to sleep do he is walking outside Niya's room.

Rishi(to himself): Should i go inside her room? Ya phir use lagega that I am trying to interfere with her life too much. Mujhe use uncomfortable feel nahi karwana.

As he continues to wander outside, Niya walked outside the room and became startled by seeing Rishi there.

Niya: RB Sir, aap yahan?

Rishi: Woh main bas...um...bas aise hi ghoom raha tha

Niya starts to walk towards the kitchen.

Rishi: Kahan ja rahi ho?

Niya: Bas pani lene ja rahi hoon

Rishi: Ruk jao please for two minutes, I need to talk to you

She looked at him with a serious expression and simply nodded. They sat inside Niya's bedroom.

Rishi: Niya, we need to talk about what happened today

Niya: Sir please, main us bare mein bilkul bhi baat nahi karna chahti

Rishi: Niya, hamesha it is better to talk about something jo hamne kiya hai, chahe wo ab hamein galti lag rahi ho

Niya: Matlab?

Rishi: Matlab tum bhi janti ho Niya, ye baat mein bhi jaanta hoon aur tum bhi jaantu ho ki jo tumne kiya, you certainly didn't mean it

Niya: Sir, maine jo kuch bhi kiya hai bilbul soch samajhke kiya hai

Rishi: Really Niya, tum mujhse jhoot bol rahi ho ya apne aap se bhi jhoot hi bol rahi ho?

Niya looks down at the floor and stays silent.

Rishi: Tumhein mujhse baat karni padegi Niya about what you did because I need to know ki tum kinti serious thi when you asked me to marry you

Niya(in a hurried way): RB Sir please, kya hum iss bare mein kal subah baat kar sakte gain kya, mujhe bohot neend aa rahi hai

Rishi looks at her with a look which clearly shows disappointment and genuine confusion. Both Niya and Rshi chose to sleep peacefully for the rest of the night.

The Next Morning

Kabir, Swara, Shree and Kajal were dicsussing about what time to go to Niya's house.

Kajal: Mujhe to abhi bhi samajh nahi aaya hai li kal hia kya tha

Everyone stayed silent as it was a mutual feeling, it hadn't sunk in for anyone.

Shree: Kitne baje tak chale aaj Niya ke ghar?

Kabir: 12 baje tak chalte hain, waise bhi usse explain karna padega

Swara: Tumhe inti kya jaldi hai Niya ka explanation sunne ki, I mean, humari bhi kal engagement hui hai, we should celebrate it together

Kabir stayed silent as he didn't have an answer for her question.

Kajal: It's ok na Swara, aaj hum Niya se baat kar lete hain, tum dono ke pas to puri zindagi padi hai celebrate karne ke liye

Kabir: Haan Swara, aaj this is important

Swara reluctantly agreed and they decided to go to Niya's house together at 12pm.

Morning in Sharma House

Guneet and Amber are sitting on the dining table drinking tea together when Niya walks towards them.

Amber: Niya, idhar aa, mujhe tujhse baat karni hai

Niya reluctantly come over to the dining table and takes a seat as she knows exactly what her dad wants to talk about.

Amber: Dekho Niya, kal jo hua, wo atleast hamein to samajh nahi aaya.

Guneet: Mujhe galat mat samajhna, main tumhari life mein interfere karne ki koshish nahi kar rahi hoon, but please mujhe aur tumhare papa ko samjhao, kya chal raha hai tumhare dimag mein?

Niya sighs.

Niya: Main aap logon ko kya bataon, mere paas kuch hai hi nahi aapko batane ke liye.

Amber: Iska kya matlab hota hai, kya tujhe samaj mein bhi aa raha hai ki tune kiya kya hai, tune us Rishi Burman ya phir jo bhi uska naam hai, tune usse propose kar diya hai

Niya: Papa, main khudh nahi janti ki main react kaise karun, mere pas aapke questions ka answer nahi hai aur shayad...

She is interrupted by Rishi who walks down the stairs.

Rishi: Hello everyone, I hope I'm not disturbing an important conversation.

Guneet: Nahi nahi beta, aao humare saath chai pe lo

Amber: Kya nahi nahi, haan, bohot important baat chal rahi, tum apna alag rasta khud naapo

Rishi(sarcastically): Sharma ji, agar mera aur aapka raasta aaj same ho to

Amber: Dekho bhai, yahan ek baap beti kuch baat kar rahe hain, please baad mein aana

Rishi(interrupting him): Main bhi is baat ka utna hi hissa hoon jitni aapki beti

Niya starts to get up and leave but Rishi holds her hand.

Rishi: Niya, ab to humaien baat karni padegi

Amber: Ooo bhai, haath alag and sabke samne baat karo

Guneet: Bachon ko alag se baat karne do

Rishi: Nahi, we should clear this up right here, batao Niya, kal jo tumne mujhse pucha, did u mean it?

Niya starts to answer but the bell rings and Guneet goes to open the door. Amber, Niya and Rishi look have their attention diverted.

Guneet: Arre tum log, aao aao.

Kabir, Swara, Kajal and Shree walk in.

Rishi sighs and looks disappointed which is noticed by Amber.

Amber(to himself): Shayad isse akele mein baat karne se kuch baat pata chale.
