R.I.P Plot X'D
.
.
I hate how false I feel when I visit Kise's house. I feel gross and awkward, and far too formal. The last one, only applying when I'm coming over after school. Wearing my blazer in the heat is so aggravating! But I know that I can chill out as soon as I'm behind closed doors, so basically, in Kise's bedroom. If I were dressed in my Ryoko clothing, I doubt I would be allowed in Kise's room. But I would probably feel more comfortable in his home.
Kise opens his bedroom door and gestures that I can come in. I nod and head inside, cautiously perching on his bed's edge. Kise laughs at my stiffness.
"You can relax in here, Ryoucchi!" Kise smiles kindly.
"Thanks Kise." I smile, taking off my blazer and my tie.
"You're in a vest top, Ryoucchi. You can take off your school shirt." I am offered. I smile and shake my head.
"It's too early to play the transgender card if I'm caught out." I sigh, opening my laptop. I brought it to Kise's place so we can do some research. And go to a place that's away from Nate. After having to provoke my senpai to have a nosebleed at the first preliminary game, Nate has vanished. But I don't trust him to stay out of my life for long.
"Ryoucchi, are you afraid?"
"Yes." I admit.
.
The sports hall is almost empty, the majority of the team have left for home already. The only senpai that remains here is our captain, Kasamatsu-senpai. He's flanking the coach.
"We finally got a response back from a school in Kyoto to play against us."
"Which school, senpai?" Kise asks, bronze eyes twinkling.
"Rakuzan High School will be sending their first years to Kaijo to play a practise game with our own first years." The Coach says.
I gulp. Rakuzan High School is the place where Akashi Seijuro is being educated. He acquired the position of captain immediately and the idea of having to face his 'Emperor Eye' is going to scare me shitless on the day! Why now? Why? We're in the process of the preliminary games for the Inter-High!
"I know some of you are sceptical. Only Kise's played in a legitimate game. But this is going to be a learning experience for all of you. Okenok, I know you're going to be our secret weapon but playing first years won't be an issue, you won't be playing in games until we're in a fix anyway."
How nice, Coach. When does Kaijo actually struggle? Against Shutoku? Yosen? Torou? Rakuzan? Serin? Ha! That was a fluke in the form of a buzzer beater. I shudder, fearful. I hope that this 'Emperor Eye' isn't legitimate.
.
"Rakuzan...for a practise game, to motivate the first years! How about no!" I complain.
"Is that why you're researching Akashicchi's emperor eye?"
"Yep." I reply, popping the 'P'.
"Are you really going to try and beat him?"
"Nope. I'm hoping to be ill on the day so you can play instead!" I laugh, lightly shoving my blond friend, both of us are now sprawled out on the bed.
"But Ryoucchi!" Kise whines.
"But nothing! He'll work it out!" I huff.
"Maybe Akashicchi won't be there!"
"You're not making me feel any better."
"Sorry." Kise hangs his head.
"Ryouta!" Kise's older sister Ami knocks on the door. I grab my blazer and put it on, just to keep myself secure. "Come in!" the blond calls to his sister.
"Hey Ryouta, Ryou-kun, Mum and Dad won't be home until late and Namiko's on the night shift, so what do you want for dinner?"
I love Kise's big sister, Ami has always been ever so kind to me. She likes the friendship that I have with Kise. Once or twice she has mused that I have been a better friend to him than most of the Generation of Miracles. Namely because only, to my knowledge Kuroko, Momoi and Aomine were keen on making friends with him when he was on the team. Is "friends" the right word? I don't know.
"What do you want Ryoucchi?"
"I uh- I don't mind."
Gahh! I don't know! Since Kasamatsu made that comment about me being girly, I have been so self-conscious about all of my mannerisms. I have had to tell more and more lies at school to cover my tracks. Is there such thing as a girly food? Pink stuff? Candies and chocolates, sweets. Candyfloss. They're all associated with femininity, but what about meals? What's a girly main meal? Kise, please help me!
I shoot my blond friend a glance. He turns to his sister.
"I'm fine, whatever you want, Ami-nee." Kise smiles.
"Well, I was thinking we could go to that noodle bar by the stadium you play at."
"Yum! Sounds good, right Ryoucchi!"
"Sounds great, Ami-san!" I make sure to be polite to Kise's sister.
"C'mon then! Make sure your laptops cool down in their cases, we don't want a fire!" Ami smiles, skipping out of the room, her soft bob of blonde hair bouncing with every step.
We end up joining Kise's sister downstairs in around five minutes and immediately hop into the waiting cab so we can travel to the stadium. I stole some of Kise's body spray just as a security blanket.
"Ryou-kun, are you wearing Lynx?" Ami laughs. "Kise wears that exact same one!"
"Hehe, I picked up a few habits from Kise."
"I'm not surprised." Ami muses. "His mannerisms are contagious. I've ended up adding the suffix -cchi to the names of my friends too!"
"So has Namiko-nee." Kise laughs quietly to himself.
Kise has two older sisters; Ami graduated from Kaijo with last years third years. She goes to the local college apparently, to study biology. Kise told me that she wants to go to medical school and become a local practitioner. Meanwhile their older sister Namiko just got into full time employment at the Sport Museum. Funny how that happens, they all have skills that will support Kise's sporting career.
When we arrive at the noodle bar, Ami begins to wave frantically at two people at the door and chatting. At the corner of my eye, I spot something green. In a rickshaw.
"Midorima!" I gasp.
"Hey! Hey! Midorimacchi!" Kise waves.
The green haired teen sighs and Takao stops the rickshaw in the car park.
"Hello Kise."
"Hey Midorimacchi! Hello Takao-san!"
"Hi." the shorter guy with raven hair nods in acknowledgement. He tilts his head, looking at me.
"Hi, I'm Okenok Ryou, Kise's teammate." I bow.
"So this is your beloved 'Ryoucchi'." Midorima muses.
"You know who I am?" I cock a brow, trying to hold back my excitement.
"He and Koneko-san speak of you." Midorima says.
"Good things, I hope."
"Oi! Ryouta! If your friends are eating here too, then can I eat with Harucchi and Reicchi?" Well, Ami wasn't wrong when she said that she was also using the '-cchi' suffix.
"Would you like to join us, Midorimacchi?" Kise's eyes are twinkling. The green haired teen glances at Takao. The dark haired teen's stomach conveniently growls at that point.
"Sure." Midorima says with a sigh. Yes! I get to bond with my idol! I cannot form words! Gahh! This is going to be amazing!
