Date, after all

I make my way to my locker, already knowing what awaits me. The extremely witty, Rafe Cameron. Every day it's the same question in a different way. I find myself liking it sometimes. But deep down, I know he's only interested because I'm not.

I would be, I totally would be. If I didn't know the way he treats girls. Sweet, until you start going out then he's an asshole. I've heard, too many times to call bullshit.

As I expected I see Rafe, leaning next to my locker, awaiting me.

I walk up to the unspectacular locker, identical to any other, only difference the passcode and Rafe, next to it. As soon as his mouth opens I find myself excited to hear what he's come up with today.

"Just once." He speaks up, as if he was continuing our conversation from earlier. "Once, you won't regret it."

I plaster on a sarcastic excited look, "Boy, if I ever! You promise?" I phoney. "I've been waiting for you to tell me that my whole life, Rafe." I dramatically sigh in a wistful manner.

"Stop acting like I'm joking."

I chuckle, "It's a little funny though, isn't it?"

He clears his throat, "Look," I prepare for a gesture, "I could treat you so good," Likely story, "I swear, I've seen the guys you've dated. Little boys to be honest. I could show you what it's like to be with a man. Something real. No shitty love letters, or eye fucking, no bullshit. Real things, Jude. Real things. I could show you amazing things. I mean, you deserve to be with a real man. You're beautiful. The guys you date don't deserve you. Just one night. Let me show you what it's like."

"Poetic, Rafe." I begin walking and he follows, hardly behind.

"You don't have to make speeches to ask me out, Rafe. You're not pitching your PR for me."

He scoffs, "Feels like it."

I sigh, "That's a shame because PR's actually have a chance."

"Jude, why do you always give me shit?"

I give him a 'really?' face. "Perhaps it's the fact the least girlfriends you've had in a month is 3, that's like 4th grade bad, Rafe. Maybe that's why, but that's just maybe, Rafe. I'm not getting added to a list."

"Okay," He starts, "You know I've not had a girlfriend in a while. I'm serious about you."

"How many times have you used that one?" I ask acting all excited.

"I haven't-" He starts but I cut him off.

"Exactly, my point. Because you're not serious about relationships. Trust me Rafe, we're both better off."

He blabbers a little, "I can't win! If I said I say it to all my girlfriends, you call me a fuckboy. I say I haven't and I still am."

"C'mon Jude. Gimme a chance."

"Fine."

"Really?" I hear surprise in his voice.

"No."

Rafe huffs and stops me, now on outside campus, his hands around my shoulders, "One night. 3 hours of you precious time." He says emphasising on 'precious time', knowing I really don't have much going on, "Anywhere you want. You do all the talking if you want. I don't even care what you do as long as you're there. You pick what we do. Anything. Whatever you want. I'm serious about you. I want to try this."

I click my tongue my mouth agape, thinking. He seems so desperate. Maybe he is serious. It's worth a shot, right? If it doesn't work out, he stops bothering me, but I won't have an "annoying" someone waiting at my locker every, single, day. I weigh out the pros and cons in my head.

"One night?" I ask and he nods, "Anywhere I want?" He nods again. I bite my cheek and huff in failure, "Fine."

He smiles, "Seriously?"

"No," I say and he believes me for a second his face dropping and I let out a giggle, "Yes, you idiot."

The smile returns on his lips, dimples indenting his cheeks. "I could kiss you right now." He says happily.

"Please don't."

He's too giddy to react to my comment, his hands dropping from my shoulders and he makes a celebratory fist.

"Also, no pastel polo, please. I swear I'll leave."

"You want me to come topless?"

My eyebrows shoot up my forehead, "Do that and I won't leave the house."

He laughs, "I'm kidding."

"I'm aware."

He nods. "Text me when and where?" He asks.

I shrug, "You pick, I'll be too busy doing things in my "precious time" to think about a place. Somewhere you think I'll like."

He nods, "You sure I'm fit for the challenge?" He jokes.

I laugh, "Impress me."

A smirk meets his lips "You have no idea."
