I Grew up on Venus

To the cadence of your heartbeat I walked in your footsteps.

The forever moments of astral guidance.

The sacrament of wilderness was my playground.

Stargazing all around,

Two for treasure and I was honored.

I was your progenitor.

Bless the child able to ever in dreams,

I never knew pain.

Running with wolves through the Meadows of heaven,

I never knew hunger.

Eternal winds for you were my wings above flames,

When the sky turns black I need not be afraid.

For your hands endlessly ready for mine,

A dreaming beauty of nocturnal hymns,

Your voice is my intuition.

Reflection through glassy skies,

My tears never fell hard.

You made our household feel like an empire,

I was never scared of the fire.

For you taught me to dance around it,

And when it pours, you taught me to dance in it,

And when it shines you taught me to follow the rays.

Because of you, I have no fear,
because of you, cupids arrows are no weapon here.

I grew up on Venus.
