"June, I haven't seen you in a long time." Carmenia told Meadow as she got into the passenger seat of his car

"And you don't reach out to me, do you still love me?" She asked, genuinely

"Carmenia." He looked at her, pulling out of his aunt's driveway

She lived with their aunt ever since their dad died and her mother is nowhere to be found, his sister didn't want to stay in the neighborhood that their aunt lived in though. She expressed that to him and Meadow bought his aunt a two story, four bedroom, two bathroom house near a beach

"Yes?" She looked at him with soft eyes

"I love you wit' all of me, you got my heart fully. You more than my sister, you like my daughter." He said, truthfully

"I love you too, but I told you that I missed you and you didn't even say anything back, you just started talking about flowers." She sighed with a sad look on her face

"Tell me how ta fix it."

"June, by acting like I'm your little sister and not a random you don't wanna be bothered with." She rolled her eyes

Meadow scratched his chin at her tone. "That's not what fuck I just asked you, tell me how to make you feel better right now."

"Meadow, I don't know. Spend time with me or something like why do you always jump down somebody's throat like you wanna kill them!" She raised her voice

He rubbed his temple, trying to understand her frustration. He wiped his hand across the side of his face and kept driving

"How school been, Mena?" He called her by her nickname, while switching lanes

"Good, I'm #9 in my class as of my right now." She sighed and he smiled

"Dea it is, I'm happy you back on yo' shit."

Carmenia had a hard time her ninth grade year, getting all B's first quarter, then C's and B's for the rest of the school year

She smiled from enthusiasm. "Thank you so much, Juney. Can we get food?"

He nodded and looked at her. "Whatcha lookin' at?" She questioned

He kept looking. "Oh, I want some tacos... from Jimmy's Tacos."

His eyes shifted to the road and he changed his route to the food truck she was referring to. His phone dinged in his lap and he looked down

Meadow shook his head with a mug on his face, he didn't want to have sex with the girl who was texting him. She was a fine brownskin with a nice body, but he didn't want to even have a conversation with her
