As Artemis continued her patrol through the forest of Olympus, her mind was filled with thoughts of Percy and the troubling words he had spoken. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to his troubles than he had let on. Something lurked beneath the surface, something dark and mysterious.

Lost in her thoughts, Artemis almost didn't notice the rustling of leaves behind her. But as she turned to investigate, a figure stepped out from the shadows, his presence sending a chill down her spine.

It was a man she had not seen in centuries, a figure from her past that she had hoped never to encounter again. His name was Orion, a legendary hunter whose arrogance had once led him to challenge Artemis herself.

"Artemis," Orion greeted her with a smirk, his voice dripping with disdain. "It's been too long, hasn't it?"

Artemis's grip tightened on her bow, her silver eyes flashing with anger. She had no love for Orion, no desire to engage with him in conversation.

"What do you want, Orion?" she asked, her voice cold and commanding.

Orion's smirk widened, as if he relished the opportunity to provoke her. "I heard about your little encounter with the demigod," he said, his tone laced with mockery. "Seems like you've taken quite a liking to him."

Artemis's jaw clenched, her patience wearing thin. She had no intention of letting Orion's taunts get the better of her.

"Percy Jackson is none of your concern, Orion," she replied, her voice firm and unwavering. "Now leave, before I'm forced to take action."

But Orion simply laughed, a cruel sound that echoed through the night. "Always so quick to resort to violence, aren't you, Artemis?" he sneered. "Some things never change."

Artemis felt a surge of anger rise within her, a primal instinct to defend herself against this arrogant intruder. But she forced herself to remain calm, to resist the urge to lash out.

"Leave, Orion," she repeated, her voice a steely command. "I won't ask again."

For a moment, it seemed as though Orion might heed her warning. But then, with a wicked grin, he stepped forward, his eyes blazing with malice.

"You think you can scare me off, Artemis?" he taunted, his voice dripping with contempt. "I'm not afraid of you. I never have been."

With that, Orion lunged forward, his movements swift and precise. Artemis barely had time to react, her instincts kicking into overdrive as she raised her bow and took aim.

But before she could release her arrow, a voice echoed through the forest, strong and commanding.

"Artemis, stop!"

Artemis froze, her eyes widening in surprise as she recognized the voice. It was Percy, emerging from the shadows with a determined look on his face.

"Percy, what are you doing here?" Artemis asked, her voice tinged with relief.

Percy didn't answer, his attention focused entirely on Orion. With a flick of his wrist, he summoned a wave of water from the nearby stream, sending it crashing into Orion with a force that knocked him off his feet.

Orion staggered to his feet, his expression twisted with rage. But before he could retaliate, Artemis stepped forward, her bow still trained on him.

"Leave, Orion," she said, her voice calm but firm. "Before you do something you'll regret."

For a moment, it seemed as though Orion might challenge her again. But then, with a growl of frustration, he turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving Artemis and Percy alone in the moonlit forest.

Artemis let out a sigh of relief, lowering her bow and turning to face Percy. "Thank you, Percy," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "You saved me."

Percy shrugged, a sheepish grin spreading across his face. "Just returning the favor," he replied. "Besides, I couldn't let him hurt you."

Artemis felt a warmth spread through her chest at Percy's words, a feeling she couldn't quite name. It was as if, in that moment, they had formed a bond that transcended their differences, a connection that defied logic and reason.

"Thank you, Percy," Artemis repeated, her silver eyes meeting his with a mixture of admiration and respect. "You have proven yourself a true hero tonight."

Percy smiled at her, his sea-green eyes sparkling in the moonlight. "Anytime, Artemis," he replied. "Anytime."

And as they stood together beneath the canopy of stars, surrounded by the magic of the night, Artemis couldn't shake the feeling that their encounter with Orion was just the beginning of a journey that would test their strength and courage in ways they could never have imagined. But with Percy by her side, she knew they would face whatever challenges came their way, together.
