I was walking out of school it was a Friday! As I was walking down the path to my mums car thinking of how great summers gonna be and I wave bye to my friends and jump in the car skipping over the mud
"Hii!"
"Well, how was school?" My mum asks like usual
"Good we literally did nothing all day..probably cause it's the last day like so-" I state smiling like a wee kid who got sweets
We drive home and get out of the car swinging my pink bag around my back and walking in the house after my sister and brother and straight upstairs to the bathroom..(a) cause I need to go after whole 6 hours of not and (b) it's WAY more peaceful
I sit in there for a while then go out to change outta my uniform and I put my blue baggy jeans (my favourite pair) and a green knit jumper and fix my fringe a bit and run downstairs to talk then I see my mum looking at something on the computer
"OOoOoo what is this?" I say eyeing it up, it's a fancy American house..holidays? Yes!
"Emma. We need to talk..we are moving and it's gonna be to that house there obviously. It's in a wee town called Derry. In Maine!"
"What! Why?! What about my friends and the girls (my cousins)
"We can visit them every year for holidays don't worry, plus it's best for you. You might even make more friends. Dont you love America?"
"I mean..I always wanted to move but right now?!" I say panicked but excited
"Well not right now. But we're moving in two weeks. So you gotta help us around to house to pack ok sweetie" she smiled at me
"Fine fine." I walk away upstairs excited but upset. I always wanted to move to America or some place other than this shithole of a town but I never thought it would actually happen. A fresh start. At 13 leaving my family and friends and childhood house behind.
I grab my flip phone off my makeup table jumping onto the bed laying flat on my stomach calling my friends the news there just as shocked as me but seem in raged..
