In the middle of the sea, on the Sunny's deck, you stood. Diligently, you scrubbed the deck under the warm sun. The air is thick with heat, and beads of sweat drip from your brow, but the job was overdue. The deck, weathered and worn, has collected layers of salt and grime from endless waves and winds. Despite the warmth pressing down on you, you held satisfaction in each clean streak that emerges, restoring a sense of order and readiness to the ship.
As you finally conquered an annoying stain, you felt observed. You turned and leaning on the railing you found Nami, her fiery hair dancing in the wind —a smug grin on her face.
"Oh, look who decided to help," you call out, waving the mop. "Hope you brought your best standing-around skills!" Among your friends, you were like a fish in the water, social to the max. Other people could never tell.
She crossed her arms, smirking. "Figured someone had to supervise. Can't let you have all the fun."
You chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "Fun? This deck's so overdue, it's practically a fossil!"
She fires back, "You're a paleontologist now?"
You both burst out laughing, the sea air filling with shared amusement.
Nami watched you work a lot. She'd stand by the rail, her gaze steady, yet soft, watching your every move across the deck. There was something mesmerizing in the rhythm of your work—the way your shoulders flexed as you scrubbed, your quiet determination in every movement. Every time, she'd feel a warmth rise in her chest, something she'd long ignored but could never entirely shake. It was silly, she told herself. Just admiration for a friend. But still, her eyes lingered, tracing the lines of your figure anytime she'd observe you work. In these stolen moments, she allowed herself the luxury of simply watching you, letting herself dream.
You knew she observed you once in a while but - oh so naive - you didn't once suspect her heart was tightening at every move or perhaps was it that you didn't have the courage to ask?

The table is set, laughter filling the air as everyone gathers around. Sanji moves with purpose, putting the finishing touches on the meal. No one dares to interrupt. They know better—he likes it his way, and they respect that.
Around the table, though, it's all chatter and comfort. Glasses clink, jokes fly, and there's an easy rhythm to the conversation. People lean in, passing dishes. The food is incredible, as always, and there's something about sharing this moment that feels effortless. No need for grand speeches or forced words—just the simple act of being together, enjoying a meal, and letting the bonds of friendship deepen with every laugh.
These were the best time but like every time, you'd have to reload your social battery right after and so, when you were done, you went outside, loving the fresh breeze of the evening on your skin.
Back in the kitchen, Nami leaned by the window, watching carefully only to be surprised with a tap in her shoulder, jolting back. "Robin?"
"Ask him to spend a day with you."
"What? We spend our time together."
"Alone, just you and him."
Quickly, Nami moved her hands chaltically, begging her comrade to quiet down. "Be quiet!" Silence. "Wouldn't that be weird? If I go and ask him?"
"Nami, I...don't understand. He's not from another crew, so where's the problem?"
"I don't know if he shares my feelings, first thing and...I don't want it to be awkward for you guys..."
Robin lips stretched in a warm smile. "Just be happy."
"What if he rejects me? I'd have to leave, hide forever until I die. Peak embrassment."
"Drama queen."
"Robin, you know what I mean!"
"It won't happen."
"What?"
"He won't reject you." Like that, Robin opened the kitchen door with a smile. "Go."
"Now?"
"Now or tomorrow doesn't make much difference, does it?" Her friend's words hit home, sparking a flicker of agreement. With a deep breath, she pushes through the fear, gathering her courage and stood up. "Ok...I'll try." Robin hummed, satisfied.
Soon, someone flopped by your side. "Oh, what's up?" you asked her. She smiled and gazed she gazes at the stars, each one a distant spark, as if searching for the right words to say. With the cool breeze brushing against her face, she takes a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment. In the soft murmur of the sea, she finally whispers," It's nice outside tonight." Ypu frowned. The navigator's behaviour was out of character. "Nami?"
She took a deep breath and turned to you. " At our next stop, wanna go grab a coffee? ...just the two of us."
You had poor social skills at times but your weren't dumb. "Hmmmm..." you scratched your head, "I mean...Eh...You...You're asking...me on a date?"
"I think so."
You chuckled nervously, stratched the back of your head a little more. "Sure, ok, awesome!" You clapped your hands together and got up in a jump. " Let's go grab a coffee!"
"Really?" Her eyes sparkled.
"Yah!"
