5 months later... October 15th.
Coconut Grove, Miami, FL
Asia's POV

The stranger who had stumbled into my life was still a nagging recollection in the back of my mind, even though it had been five months since that fateful night in downtown Miami. A yearning for a quick smoke to relieve the tension growing inside of me emerged as the afternoon sun created dappled shadows across the downtown streets.

But there was a problem—I didn't have a plug.

Turning to my phone, I scrolled through my contacts, searching for a solution to my predicament. After a moment of hesitation, I decided to reach out to one of my friends, Destiny, hoping she could point me in the right direction.

"Hey, do you know anyone who can hook me up with some weed?" I typed out, my fingers tapping against the screen in anticipation.

A few minutes later, a reply came through, accompanied by the name and Instagram handle of a guy named Elijah. Curiosity piqued, I clicked on the link and began scrolling through his profile, searching for any clues as to who he might be.

And then, I saw it—a familiar face staring back at me from one of his posts.

My heart skipped a beat as recognition dawned, but try as I might, I couldn't place where I knew him from. Shrugging off the feeling of déjà vu, I quickly sent him a direct message, asking if he could meet me at 81st Street for a drop-off.

Minutes turned into hours as I waited anxiously for a response, my mind racing with anticipation. And then, just as I was beginning to lose hope, a notification popped up on my screen—a message from Elijah.

"Sure, I'll meet you there in 20 minutes," he replied, his words sending a thrill of excitement coursing through me.

With a newfound sense of purpose, I grabbed my jacket and headed out the door, the promise of relief beckoning me forward. Arriving at 81st Street, I scanned the crowd, searching for a familiar face amidst the throng of people.

And then, I saw him—Elijah, standing tall and imposing against the backdrop of the bustling street. As our eyes met, a spark of recognition flickered between us, and I felt a jolt of electricity shoot through my veins.

"Hey, you made it," he said, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down my spine.

"Yeah, thanks for coming," I replied, trying to keep my composure as I handed him the money for the weed.

"You don't look like the type to smoke, you sure you can handle this?" he says, assessing me up and down as if he's judging me.

"You'd be surprised on what I can handle." I say, bringing my eyes down his body and slowly back up to his penetrating gaze.

A smirk formed on his lips, and he raised an eyebrow in amusement. Elijah chuckled, the sound deep and rich like rolling thunder. "I like your confidence," he said, his voice a low rumble that sent a shiver down my spine. "Let's see if you can keep up."

I couldn't help but feel drawn to his confident demeanor and devilish charm. As we exchanged a knowing look, I knew that this interaction was just the beginning of something thrilling and dangerous. I couldn't wait to see where it would lead.

Instead of leaving right away, Elijah stayed, his gaze lingering on me with an intensity that made my heart race. And before I knew it, we were locked in conversation, the words flowing effortlessly between us as if we had known each other for years.

As we talked, I couldn't shake the feeling that this meeting was anything but random—that somehow, fate had brought us together once again. And as Elijah reached into his pocket and pulled out a blunt.

With a flick of his wrist, he produced a lighter from his pocket and ignited the end of the blunt, the flame casting a warm glow over his features. As he took a long drag, I watched in fascination, captivated by the way his lips curled around the tip of the joint.

"You know," Elijah began, exhaling a cloud of smoke into the air, "I never expected to run into you again after that night."

I raised an eyebrow inquisitively, curiosity piqued. "Oh? And why's that?"

He shrugged, a nonchalant gesture that belied the intensity in his gaze. "Just a feeling, I guess. Call it intuition."

I couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement at his words, the air between us charged with a palpable tension. It was as if we were dancing on the edge of something dangerous, teetering on the brink of an unknown abyss.

As we smoked together, the conversation flowed effortlessly between us, the barriers of inhibition crumbling away with each passing minute. It was as if we had known each other for years, our connection transcending the boundaries of time and space.

And as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the city streets, I couldn't shake the feeling that this was only the beginning of something extraordinary. Little did I know, the events set into motion on that fateful afternoon would forever alter the course of my life, leading me down a path I never could have imagined.

But for now, in the hazy glow of the twilight, I simply let myself be swept away by the magic of the moment, eagerly awaiting whatever the future had in store.
