Asha sat in the auto, a nameless dread churning in her. Earlier that day, her eyes had locked with Mayur's, sparking a silence. No words were exchanged, not even a smile. Yet, it felt like a million unspoken thoughts hung heavy in the air, carried by the intensity of their shared gaze.

"If only I could decipher the language of his eyes," she thought, longing to understand the message buried within. But then, a wave of defiance surged through her. "Why should I care? I don't need to understand. I won't be weakened."

However, a sliver of doubt lingered. What exactly did she mean by "weakness"? Was it the vulnerability of caring, or the fear of being hurt again?

The auto rumbled on. The smoke of the driver's bidi curled through the air, mirroring the haze that clouded Asha's thoughts.
