The doctor nodded understandingly. "Don't worry, Billie. We've got time to discuss this. There are a few things we can try to encourage the baby to turn itself around, like having you try certain positions during the day or doing some exercises. But if that doesn't work, we may have to consider a caesarean section. Now, I want to stress that this is not an ideal situation, but it's not an emergency either. We'll just have to monitor the baby's position closely and make the best decision for everyone's health and safety. Maybe we might need you hospitalized for a few days to make sure everything goes smoothly."

Jesse squeezed Billie's hand reassuringly. "We'll be with you every step of the way, baby. We'll make sure Maddy's taken care of and that you feel as comfortable as possible." Billie looked at Jesse gratefully, feeling a wave of relief wash over her.

"Okay. . . so when am I going to get admitted?" Billie asked, taking a deep breath. "And how long will I need to stay in the hospital?"

The doctor glanced over at Jesse, who nodded. "Well, Billie, we'd like to admit you as soon as possible. We'll want to keep a close eye on you and the baby, and make sure everything's progressing as it should. As for how long you'll need to stay, it really depends on the situation. If the baby turns around on its own, you might be able to go home within a few days. But if we do need to schedule a cesarean section, it's more likely that you'll need to stay for a week or so."

Billie took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Okay. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, what can I do to help encourage the baby to turn?"

The doctor nodded. "There are a few things you can try. One is to lie on your side with pillows behind you, which is called the 'side-lying position.' Another is to try the 'woman-on-top' position during sex, or simply lie on your back with a pillow under your right hip. We'll give you some pamphlets with more information on these positions. Just remember not to exhaust yourself too much, as that can lead to stress for both you and the baby."

"So in that case should we, uh, you know avoid sex until the baby's in the right position?" Jesse asked, looking a bit sheepish.

"No, not at all," the doctor said, "Sex is actually fine, and even encouraged, as long as you're not having penetrative intercourse and the baby is turned away from you. The positions we mentioned before can actually help stimulate the baby into moving into the right position. It's perfectly natural and healthy for couples to be intimate during pregnancy."

Jesse and Billie exchanged glances, relieved. The doctor continued, "Of course, you should always communicate with your partner and make sure you're both comfortable with any activity you engage in. Just be mindful of the baby's position and make sure you're not putting too much pressure on your abdomen."

"We'll keep that in mind," Billie said with a small smile. "Thanks, Doctor. I'll do my best to try these positions and hope for the best."

The doctor smiled back and patted her hand. "You're doing great, Billie. We'll be here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to call us. In the meantime, why don't you and Jesse head over to the hospital now? We'll get you all checked in and settled in."

As they made their way to the hospital, Billie and Jesse couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. They were worried about the baby's position but also reassured by the doctor's calm demeanor and the knowledge that they were in good hands. They held hands tightly as they walked.

Maddy was already asleep in Jesse's arms, snoring away.

Billie broke down in tears and Jesse immediately attended to her. "Hey babygirl, it's alright. We're here for you. It's going to be okay." He rubbed her back soothingly as she cried on his shoulder. He looked over at Maddy, still asleep in his arms, and felt a pang of guilt. He knew that this was not their fault, but he couldn't help but feel responsible for their other little girl's health.
