it had been a week and Viserys still hadn't woken up, everyone could see the toll it had on the queen, she was being eaten alive by fear and sadness, still grieving the loss of two of her closes friends, trying to help her son who was finding it difficult to navigate with just one eye, trying to rule over all seven kingdoms and waiting for her beloved husband to wake she was tired and everyone could see it especially as she sat and listened to the men talk in the council meeting
"it has been brought to our attention Ser Harwin Strong and Princess Rhaenyra were married in old Valaryia tradition your grace" Otto said catching his daughters full attention everyone held their breathe seeing the queens head snap up a dark look in her eye
"when were they married" she asked her voice cold "the day after the passing of Ser Laenor and Ser Joffrey your grace" Lord Lynoel said looking guilty which Rosalie took notice of
"did you know they were marrying Lord Lynoel" Rosalie questioned raising a eyebrow
"no my queen I do not support the union, I received a letter this morning from Harwin telling me of their union and that they will be residing on Dragonstone" he replied glaring at the table feeling angry at his eldest now more than ever
"thank you for letting me know my lord" Rosalie said nodding her head gratefully before gulping down her glass of wine "is the anything else that needs our attention or is that all for this meeting" she asked and the members of the council all looked at each other shaking their head before Lord Lynoel spoke up
"actually your grace, during the driftmark incident King Viserys announced Rhaenyra would no longer be his heir, Aegon would be and that the official ceremony would take place in a months time, will that still be happening since the king is un able to say" he asked
"yes my son will be named my husbands heir officially as he wished for it, scrolls will be sent out soon for the ceremony but he declared it to many people that Rhaenyra is disinherited and Aegon is his new heir" Rosalie replied making him nod before the meeting ended and they all left
"are you ok my queen" Ser Criston asked as he walked next to Rosalie ser Callum was with Aemond at her request
"she married Harwin strong, no doubt the children gives birth to between their marriage will look identical to her already born sons, her husband was just murdered and she already marry's again god she is driving me insane" Rosalie ranted
"the princess is a stuck up cunt and karma will come my queen" he spat making her stop walking and look at him
"that was below me my queen forgive me" he said looking down but she just shrugged and smiled "you are more that intitled to your opinion on her Ser Criston" she responded making him chuckle slightly as they walked into her chambers before she froze seeing her husband sitting up with all her children surrounding him
"My love" Viserys muttered smiling at his beautiful wife who had tears in her eyes as she walked up to him sitting down as their children made room for her
"your awake how are you feeling" she asked after kissing him "I am alright my love" he said squeezing her hand she wanted to say something but didn't infront of their children
"Kepas what happened to you why were you asleep for so long" Allora asked "I think i just got sick because of the boat ride my dear" Viserys answered as Maester Grant entered the room making everyone look at him
"Lets go and raid the kitchen and go out to the gardens huh the master needs to check on father" Aegon said standing up making his sibling groan but follow him after saying goodbye Allora and Enora holding Aemonds hand to lead him out
"I apologies for interrupting your family time your grace but I was told you were awake so I need to check on your health to see if your sickness is progressing" Maester Grant said making Viserys sigh feeling his wife's confused look
"sickness my love what is he speaking of" she asked grabbing his hand looking over him "I have not been feeling the best it is not sickness just the effect from an infection of a cut i received from the throne " Viserys answered taking off his shirt letting the master check over him
"you said nothing of this Viserys" Rosalie stated standing up in anger after seeing the cut knowing it was infected badly
"i would suggest leeching my king to draw out the infection" Maester said
"will that do the job for good or will it only give my husband a moment of relief" Rosalie asked pouring some wine for herself "it should do both your grace" the maester replied making her nod and sit down on a chair
"you grace i am going to ask you to sit on a chair it will be easier" the maester said making Viserys do as asked an hour later and the maester was leaving to let the king rest
"how long have you been lying to me" she asked making him freeze as he put his shirt back on
"what do you mean my love" he asked from his seat next to her his question made her slam her cup down and stand back up
"do not do that to me Viserys, the headaches the pain in the neck and the random times you didn't feel good how long have you been sick and how long have you known do not lie and say it is just a few poorly healed cuts I know these types of things I just dont see how I could of been so stupid as to not see it" Rosalie asked "come here" Viserys said patting the seat next to him but she shook her head
"no answer the question" she demanded
"a few months the maesters are not sure what it is but it has been happening for a few months I did not tell you because I did not wish to worry you I know I should of and for that I am sorry and the cut is somewhere you wouldn't see unless you were looking directly at my back for it" he answered after a moment of silence she walked up to him sitting down on the chair next to him
"do our vows mean nothing to you we are married Viserys we have seven children I have been so terrified you collapsed and then you did not wake up for a week now I am figuring out you are sick, a sickness the maesters have no idea what it is"
"our vows mean everything to mean you and our children mean everything to me my love, I married you I love you with everything I have, and I am so sorry that I lied to you but I did not wish for you to worry so much I thought the maesters would be able to take care of it I didn't think it would of lasted this long"
"no more lies no more secrets you tell me everything I need you to promise that Viserys I will always be by your side, you are the love of my life the only one for me I do not want to know a world without you" she said kneeling infornt of him grabbing his hands tightly
"I promise my sweet rose, my Rosalie no more secrets no more lies"
