Morning comes again

Birds sing their morning song
In the slowly brightening sky

Lady Sun peeks her head through gleaming
windows
Her rays of warmth
Promising as ever

There are no clouds
There is no misery
For the World is fast asleep

There are no children laughing
No singing
No dancing
And yet a certain lightness is tangible in the air

The morning creatures hold their breath in anticipation
As sunlight washes over the planet again
For this could be the day you solve starvation
This could be the day you change the nations

And it takes a while for the world to wake up
As Alarm's dulcet tones
Fills many a room

"Get up!" It shouts joyfully,
"Come and meet the day!"

I wrap my blanket around my head
"Just five more minutes," I say
