According to society, we are not normal, not regular, not ordinary, not average. We are not beautiful, not feminine, not innocent, not soft, not intelligent. We are a grotesque creature with many faces, many eyes, many names. We are forever hungry for belonging, defined by our desire to be seen but not seen that way, not seen like them, not seen as different, strange, foreign, alien. We do not want to be Other. We are not Other.
