Ok so we know that Purple turned into an impostor because of the artifact that they touched aswell as Red. That's the main way to get infected.
But Pink?

Pink is Pink, so here's a theory, what if Pink is just like the shapeshifter? Hear me out.
Real impostors are probably just a bunch of parasites that morfed into what we know as a crewmate, so maybe Pink is a very intelligent parasite? Maybe not as smart as a crewmate but they're smarter than an average parasite.
So maybe Pink doesn't have an actual backsory and is just a hungry parasite?
