Wes’s POV

The ballroom filled with noise as everyone danced with their mates. Megan laughing as Grayson spun her. Finally, they had gotten over their problems and accepted each other.
About bloody time if you ask me.
I couldn’t help but feel alone as everyone paired up around me.
Sighing, I made my way through the ballroom towards the open bar.
A laugh left my lips as I overheard the conversation of the couple in front of me.
“I told you, I’m Jack Deth, from trancers.”
“What are you talking about?”
“It’s a movie, before 2000 that’s why you haven’t watched it.”
“Why would I watch some old movie?”
A loud groan is the only reply she got.
My laughing must have pulled their attention because he turned towards me.
As our eyes met the world faded away, leaving only the two of us.
His blonde hair had been slicked back, his bright green eyes widening as they met mine.
“Mate.”
As soon as the word left my lips, he froze.
Our gaze disconnected as a tall brunette in a tight black dress with cat ears in her hair wrapped an arm around him.
“Jeremy, what’s wrong?”
With a shake of his head, he turned to her, kissing her on the cheek.
“Nothing baby, absolutely nothing.”
As he intertwined his hand with hers, he led her away from me, never once looking at me again.
What the hell just happened?
Before I could follow him, Andy grabbed my arm, a smile on her face.
“Hey, there you are. I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”
Forcing a smile on my face I turned my attention to her, trying to avoid looking for my mate.
“You found me, what’s up?”
Her mouth opened to reply, only to close abruptly as her grip tightened painfully on my arm.
The hundreds of candles covering the room suddenly erupted as she let out a thunderous growl.
With wide eyes she looked up at me, her face pale.
“I think my water just broke.”
