Dirge

Won't you sing to me,

Oh, silent voice?

Bring me your evensong.

Cry out in the dark, until light dawns,

Chorus kill despair.

Chant your melody, up to the stars,

For nobody to know.

Notes to sacrifice, lines to swallow,

May nothing leave your throat.

Won't you scream for me,

Oh, dying voice?

Offer me your last verse.

The day will end with your rebirth,

And at night the noise is cursed.

A harmony is certain now,

Don't ever lose the spark.

Oh, canary bird,

Make some sound,

Or lie forever 'neath the willow bark.
