The New Lovers (Eren X Mikasa)

Chapter 1: An Interesting Start

Mr. Levi's POV:
"Hello class I'm Mr. Levi, your home room teacher. And sadly I'm stuck with you for the year." I never liked kids. So how did I become a teacher? I was forced to. This was the only job I could get and I needed money, but enough of that.

"Since we have nothing better to do, just introduce yourselves to one another pointlessly while I get coffee. Eren Jeager, you're in charge of this class 'till I get back," I left the classroom with a coffee pot in my hands.

Eren's POV:

It's the first day of school and I'm already in charge. Just great...

I looked around and I found a new student. She was the only one who was alone at her desk. She was really beautiful and cute. I walked up to her and introduced myself.

"Hi! I'm Eren Yeager, the class representative. Are you new to this school?"

"Yes I am actually," she replied. "I'm Mikasa."

"So what are you doing by yourself Mika?"

"Don't call me that. But anyway, all my friends are at my old school so I really don't have anyone to talk to."

"Here, I'll introduce you to my friends." I grabbed her hand and brought her over to my friend Armin, whom was talking to Annie, his girlfriend.

"Sorry to disrupt your conversation but I wanted you to meet Mikasa, our new
student," I said and smiled.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Armin and that's Annie," Armin introduced himself before he leaned over to Annie and kissed her.

"Hey Armin, do you guys have to do that here?" I sighed and shook my head.

I took Mikasa far away from them. "Sorry about that. Armin used to be shy and quiet, but ever since he met Annie, he's been wild and outgoing."

"It's okay, I don't really mind. I'm glad I now have someone to talk to. We're friends now right?" Mikasa asked.

"Yeah!" I replied.

"Alright everyone back to your seats!" Mr. Levi had just walked in. "Now that introductions are over, it's time for the lesson."

I sighed. His lessons were boring and I wanted to find out more about Mikasa. I got the chance to know her more when the bell rung, signaling that class was over. I went over to Mikasa.

"Can I walk with you Mika? I think we have the same class next," I said.

"Sure, but please don't call me Mika," She said before nodding.

We walked out of the classroom and into the hallways of the school. I don't know what I'm thinking, asking to walk with her. Might as well enjoy it.

Mikasa's POV:

On the way to science, I started to think about Eren. He seems like a nice guy and he's the first one to talk to me here. I was so busy thinking about Eren that I didn't see a guy come up to me. He shoved me against a wall.

"Hey! What are you doing Jean?" Eren asked angrily.

"Just teaching you a lesson. Because you really forgot about the lessons I taught you before." The said guy, known as Jean, then leaned in closer to me. I looked away and closed my eyes.

But nothing happened until I heard a thump. Eren had punched Jean, which knocked Jean out for a few seconds.

"Sorry Mika, but we have to go!" Eren said. He grabbed my hand and pulled me away. Jean got up and ran after us. It felt so thrilling and terrifying at the same time. We managed to lose him in the hallways and went to the roof.

"I'm so sorry about that! I should explain. Jean always does something to me, or my friends, on the first day of school and you just got caught in it. Jean and I are pretty bad enemies. He's like a Titan, you know. But anyway are you okay?" Eren asked in a worried manner.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for saving me back there. We should get back to class." I said.

"Mika wait!" called Eren. Will he ever stop using that name?

"What?"

"Let's enjoy the view first. It's an amazing sight you know?" Eren said and smiled.

I looked at the scenery. He was right. It was a beautiful sight. From up here you could see the entire school. In the distance you could see some cherry blossoms, green hills and the clear blue skies. Our school was truly a beautiful sight.

I turned back to Eren and we went back to science. We actually made it on time right before the bell screamed, signaling other students to get to class. So far my first day of school has been interesting....

Eren's POV:

After science the entire day went smoothly. Lessons and introductions were a breeze. Mikasa and I were able to avoid Jean, and we met new friends. The dismissal bell rang and almost everyone, except me, started leaving the school.

I just went up to the roof and relaxed. The view was always different, but amazing. It sort of reminded me of how the world looked a few years ago.

-A Few Years Ago-

I was living on the countryside. I would lie down on the hills under the shade of trees. I liked the view and at night it was even better. Stars would light up the sky and my mom would come over to stargaze with me. Sometimes we would even sleep there. My dad would always wake us up before going to his clinic. He was one of the three doctors in the area. So sometimes he would get emergency calls and head over to his clinic, even on his day off. One day, I wish he hadn't...

It was summer break. I was swimming in the river with my friends. I had a fun time and went back home late. I wasn't expecting my dad because he had received a call. But at the house, he was there. He was crying about something. I looked over and saw the worst sight anyone could see...

My mom on the floor, gone in heaven. And I don't even want to remember what happened to her. It was too painful.

My dad hugged me and we both cried. And we still did at the funeral. After the funeral, he quit his job and told me to pack up. We left the countryside and went to live in the city. I still miss my mom...

-Flashback End-

Mikasa's POV:

After the bell rang, I left the classroom and went outside. I was about to leave when I looked up at the roof and saw Eren. I went back inside and went up to the roof. When I got up there, Eren was crying.

"What's wrong Eren? Did something happen?" I asked.
"No, nothing happened. I just remembered something sad..." Eren sighed.

He wiped his eyes and started going down the stairwell. I rushed down and hugged him. He was surprised, I could tell.

"Eren, you're a nice guy. And I can't thank you enough for talking to me. I probably
would've been lonely if I didn't meet you. Thanks for today!" I said.

He turned around and smiled at me. Then he grabbed my hand and led me out of school.

"Want to walk home together Mika?" Eren asked.
"Sure. And will you ever stop calling me Mika?" I said with a sigh.
"No. It's a really cute nickname for you," he chuckled.

I sighed and looked at him. He just kept smiling. I never realized our houses were close by. At an intersection, we parted ways and went home...
