Chapter 7: Why Did I Do That?

Petra's POV:

It was already nighttime. Mr. Levi came along with me when I had to go get groceries.  We then went back to his house to pick up something before the exterminators came. By the time we got to my house, it was already nighttime.

I unlocked the door to my house and let Mr. Levi in. He stepped in and put down the bags. I shut the door behind me and took my shoes off. Mr. Levi did the same.

"So, uh... Welcome to my house." I said casually. I was acting all calm and normal, but inside my head, I was going nuts. WHY DID I DO THIS? I had no reason to. Well actually, it was so I could have Eren to myself and make sure I could go there without being disrupted by Mr. Levi, but... This was a bad idea. I shouldn't have let him stay here. I started getting a headache.

"Thanks for letting me stay here Petra. I know I may have said it earlier, but I like kids like you. Just not the ones at school. It's the secret side I have." He told me.

"Yeah... that was a little weird, but okay..." I replied. I walked into the kitchen and got some mugs out. I didn't want him here and it was my stupid decision to go against that but I had to be at least nice to him. Plus, this might get me closer to Eren.

"Mr. Levi, I don't have tea, but I have hot chocolate instead. Do you want some?" I asked.

"Yeah. Hot chocolate for me would be nice." I warmed up some water and poured it into the mugs. I opened up the hot chocolate mix packet and poured it in too. I stirred it and gave one mug to Mr. Levi.

He blew on the hot chocolate and took a sip. "This is good Petra!"

"All I did was follow the instructions on the packet."

"But still! It's really good."

"Then why not tell the company you like it?" I told him. I was only joking but he looked happy. Tomorrow, I'll have to come up with a plan to kick him out while not hurting his feelings.

"Hey, I'm going to take a bath now and head to sleep. There's no extra beds or futons so you'll have to sleep on the couch okay?"

"That's okay with me." He replied.

"Great. So umm... Good night." I walked into the bathroom and locked the door behind me.

After washing up, I brushed my teeth and quietly went into my bedroom, just in case Mr. Levi was already sleeping. I lied down on my bed and stared at the ceiling. I was coming up with ways to have a plan like I mentioned earlier. It helped me get tired and I eventually closed my eyes and went to sleep...

-The Next Morning-

Eren's POV:

I was running on the way to school. I overslept and didn't have time to eat breakfast. I knew I overslept because I couldn't sleep at all last night. I was thinking too much about being so close to Mikasa during the show so I didn't get to sleep until 4 in the morning.

When I got there, the bells had already started ringing and the clock on the clock tower outside read: 9 o'clock. I was getting frustrated. I already missed homeroom. I had never been so late before. I luckily have Mr. Levi for 1st period. He says I'm his favorite student so I'll use that as an excuse.

I got to my classroom and pulled the door open and expected to interrupt Mr. Levi and his lesson.

"Sorry I'm lat- Huh?" No one was in their seats but rather standing up or on the desks just casually hanging out. I looked around and saw that Mr. Levi wasn't in the classroom.

I found Mikasa and went over to her.

"Hi Mikasa! Where's Mr. Levi?"

"I don't know. He wasn't here for homeroom or 1st period. But wasn't he staying at Petra's house? Do you think he overslept?"

"Maybe..." I replied. As the student rep and the only who actually cared that Mr. Levi wasn't here, I went to the staffroom (Teacher's Office). The few teachers who were on break didn't know why he wasn't here and agreed that since I was the only one who did care, I would be sent to pick him up. I told them about Mr. Levi staying at Petra's house and they gave me her address. I got out of the room and went back to my classroom.

"Hey Mikasa, do you want to come with me to pick up Mr. Levi?"

"Sure! I don't mind." She replied. We both left the school and went over to Petra's house.

-Meanwhile at Petra's House-

Mr. Levi's POV:

The clock alarm went off and I hit the snooze button. I tugged the blanket over me and turned my head. I wanted to get some more sleep. Wait... huh?

I sat up and yawned. I took a look around. This isn't my room is it? If this isn't my room then... I turned around and saw Petra sleeping right beside me. I jumped up in surprise and fell over the edge of the bed. I groaned. I couldn't get up so I grabbed onto the bed sheets and tried getting up.

It wasn't working... why? I was still feeling a little groggy so I couldn't really see well. It seemed like I kept pulling on it for days. So what I didn't realize was that Petra was being moved to my side because I kept pulling on the sheets. Before I knew it, she tumbled onto me and just groaned.
