"Ijazat hai (It's allowed)." Two words that changed the course of three lives.

Two words that left her lips and stunned everyone into silence.

She took their hands in her own and put them in each other's, took a step back, letting go.

Shock mirrored both Haider and Ghazal's faces, eyes wide and rheumy, they looked at her like she had lost her mind.

"Haider ko Ghazal se dusre nikah ki ijazat hai (Haider is allowed to marry Ghazal, as his second wife)." Dua did not stutter once, but tears did run down her cheeks, though a small smile played on her lips.

Her permission is the only one that mattered and she Dua Haider Akhtar (who reiterated again and again that she could never share her husband with another woman, who made it clear that she would divorce Haider if he even considered a second marriage) had given it wholeheartedly.
