Everyone knows that a ball is a romantic place.

Keith knows that too.

He also knows he needs to confess and that Pidge looks beautiful in a dress.

After another tiring week for Voltron, all they wanted to do was rest, but Allura had other ideas.

"Paladin! I have exciting news to share with you all! Tomorrow, we will be hosting a ball here, in the castle, for the members of the coalition! And do not worry, this isn't a diplomatic event, just enjoy yourself!"

Quickly, most of the paladins shared the princess's enthusiasm. The only one who didn't was Pidge.

Why? Because even if they weren't expected to make a good impression in hopes of having another planet on their side, she was still expected to socialize with people. As one of the defenders of the universe, people always wanted her attention, same goes with her teammate.

At least she'll be able to spend some time with Keith.

Once the paladins calmed down -mostly Lance and Hunk- Allura shared more information, "Still, this doesn't mean you're excused from being on your best behaviour. Also, there will be no need to wear your armour ...."

The rest of the explanations went over Keith's head. Usually, he would feel the same way as Pidge, but not this time. All the red paladin could think about was that there were chances he would see Pidge in a dress.

This could be a great opportunity to confess his feelings. The only problem is that there'd be a lot of people all around them, possibly distracting him from his goal.

All he wants is to hear he say she loves him.

He can do it.

For the rest of the day, everyone helped to make sure the event went as flawlessly as possible. Shiro was helping Hunk prepare food for the guests. On their side, Allura, Coran and Lance were decorating the ball room (because obviously a space castle would have one), which was going rather slowly since the three couldn't stop arguing over how it should be done.

In the meantime, Keith was helping (mostly watching) Pidge program little butler robots that would serve their guests. He loved those calm moments between them.

The next morning, after many vargas of preparation, everything was ready for the night. This meant it was time for everyone to get ready.

And that Pidge would have to let Allura dress her up. Again.

Even if last time ended up being a great bonding time for the girls, the young girl was still worried. Previously, they had to pick a swimsuit, but not this time.

She needed a dress.

Allura told her she could wear pants if she wished, but Pidge refused. She couldn't put her finger on it, but the chance of finally wearing a dress made her somewhat happy. And scared.

The last time she wore one, people still referenced her as Katie, not Pidge.

The two previous times she wore a dress was the day her father, brother and Shiro left for Kerberos. The last one was at their funeral.
