DCBS: Chapter 100

Pei Qingyuan closed ‘Silver Life and Death Love’. He pondered on something after witnessing the system’s poor acting skills. Then he flipped through the materials he hadn’t read yet.

Sure enough, Pei Qingyuan found more novels that were ‘accidentally’ mixed in.

‘Red Life and Death Love’, ‘Purple Life and Death Love’ and ‘Yellow Life and Death Love.’ There were many books in the ‘Life and Death Love’ series alone and it could almost form a rainbow.

Others included ‘Elevator to Heaven’, ‘Interstellar Love Song’, ‘Sorry, I Don’t Love You’…

Pei Qingyuan guessed it had a high probability of being a tear-jerking tragedy of human-machine love.

His mood should be complicated and frustrated.

However, Pei Qingyuan couldn’t get angry when looking at these outrageous titles and the blue eyes of the cat doll blinking quietly.

He even thought it was cute.

“This novel is pretty good,” he objectively commented. “It would be better if the author had laid out hints for this tragic ending in advance.”

The voice that wanted to continue criticizing the ruthless mechanical butler weakened.

Ji Tong looked at his host’s calm reaction in disbelief.

Didn’t the host understand his hints at all?

“But Mary is so miserable.” Ji Tong tried his final struggle. “If she liked a human then it wouldn’t be like this. The mechanical butler has no heart.”

“Yes.” Pei Qingyuan nodded. “Its intelligence level is too low. It is far inferior to you.”

Ji Tong was strangely happy about receiving the host’s untimely praise.

“I am more advanced than him,” he tentatively said, “But I am just an artificial intelligence after all. It is the type without feelings.”

Pei Qingyuan was silent for a while before asking him, “Do you hate me?”

Taking advantage of the roommate’s lack of attention, the cat doll quickly shook his head out of fear of causing some misunderstanding with the host. “Of course not. The host is the best human I have ever seen.”

“That’s enough.” His voice was gentle. “It is time to sleep.”

Pei Qingyuan didn’t care about Ji Tong’s hints this time.

He received the butterfly doll that required more than a dozen attempts before succeeding, recovered a fragment of the heart bathed in moonlight, had a garden full of flowers and spent time together all year round.

These sights and bits and pieces weren’t stereotypical procedures set in advance.

Ji Tong had feelings.

It was just that he didn’t want to admit it for various reasons.

Pei Qingyuan didn’t feel it was Ji Tong’s fault, so he didn’t feel annoyed or frustrated.

He would try to correct all of this.

The moment the cat doll was placed on the small pillow bed made of towels, he still couldn’t respond due to the tragic failure of today’s hint attempt.

He had clearly hinted fully. Why wasn’t the host affected at all?

Was there something inherently wrong with this approach?
