The kingdom of Aurea has been ruled by demons for as long as anyone can remember. Very few alive today remember a time when the original royal line of these lands ruled. The forbidden stories, whispered in dark corners, tell of a time when this land was once ruled by a magnificent race, who were fierce protectors and terrifyingly dangerous creatures. Dragons. It is also said that when the dragons ruled this land, there were long periods of peace and prosperity for all that lived here.
But even the whispered stories, often told by in hushed tones and dark corners, eyes darting around the space, making sure no one other than the intended audience can hear, couldn't explain how it came to be that demons now ruled the land. However, a small group of whispers, speak of betrayal and a centuries old curse.
