The sky was a deep, unsettling shade of crimson, streaked with veins of purple and orange, as if the world itself were bleeding out from the morning school day, it was around 8 A.M. The air was thick with the smell of ozone and burning leaves, a harbinger of the apocalypse that was surely coming. It was a morning unlike any other, and yet it felt oddly familiar to Oliver. He sat in his homeroom class his back pressed against the cool, smooth chair, staring at his desk trapped in his own line of thoughts. He didn't know why he felt so drawn to this particular day, but he couldn't help but feel that something important was about to happen. Something life-changing.

He glanced up as the door to the classroom swung open, revealing a short but lanky figure with messy brown hair. It was Noah, the new student. The teacher, Mr. Williams, greeted him warmly before gesturing for him to take a seat at the empty desk beside Oliver's. As Noah made his way over, Oliver couldn't help but feel a strange tingling sensation in his stomach. It was as if he'd known this boy before, in some other life.

Noah glanced at Oliver with a smile and he says a quick hello before taking a notebook out of his bag to begin his first day, and first lesson at his new school. Oliver felt his cheeks flush slightly as he returned the greeting, his voice a little more nervous than he'd intended. "Hi," he said, looking back down at his desk. He couldn't help but feel grateful that Noah had been sat beside him. It was almost as if he were meant to be there.

As the teacher began the lesson, Oliver found himself constantly glancing over at Noah, unable to resist the urge to stare at the boy's piercing green eyes. They seemed to glow with an inner light, drawing him in like a moth to a flame. He couldn't help but acknowledge the boy's beauty. At least, Oliver had thought he was. Noah was fair-skinned, freckles dotted across his nose and cheeks, and those piercing green eyes that could stare at you all the time, making you feel both uncomfortable and strangely safe at the same time.

Oliver tried to focus on what the teacher was saying, but his mind kept wandering back to Noah. He had to talk to him. He had to ask him if he wanted to have lunch with him. Just the thought of spending time with the boy made his heart race. He took a deep breath and began to raise his hand, but just as he opened his mouth to speak, the bell rang, signaling the end of class.

The students in the room sprang to their feet, tossing their books into their bags and rushing out of the classroom. Oliver felt a pang of disappointment as he watched Noah gather his things and make his way out of the room, leaving Oliver alone and frustrated. He knew he had to find a way to talk to him, and soon. The clock seemed to be ticking faster than ever.

The rest of the school day dragged on, and Oliver found himself checking the time every few minutes, counting down the seconds until lunchtime. Finally, the bell rang and he made his way to the cafeteria, scanning the crowd for Noah. He spotted him almost immediately, sitting at a table by himself, a lonely bag of chips and an apple in front of him. Oliver's heart ached for the boy, knowing how it felt to be alone and ignored.

He took a deep breath and made his way over to the table, mustering up all the courage he could find. "Hey, um... I hope it's not too forward of me, but... do you want to sit with me at lunch? I mean, if you're not busy or anything." He felt his cheeks flush as he spoke, his voice coming out a little more nervous than he'd intended.

Noah looked up at Oliver, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "I'd like that," he said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. Oliver felt a wave of relief wash over him, followed by a rush of excitement. He pulled out the chair next to him and sat down, grinning at Noah.

"So, Oliver, huh?" Noah began, returning Oliver's smile. "It's a pretty name. Not too common, but not too out there either. What made your parents choose it for you?"
