To My Lady of the Rain
*
How cruel.
That in each and every drop of rain,
My gaze is gimlet-shrewd at your face. That in each and every ray of sunlight,
I am enraptured by your smile. That in each and every ounce of joy,
I hear nought but your chuckle. That in each and every litre of sadness,
I feel nought but your tears. That in each and every passing thought,
My mind wanders to you. That in each and every lingering emotion,
My heart runs to you.And that in each and every reality,
You are everywhere,Except in my willing embrace.
