Chapter 24: Shadows Amidst Snowstorms - Part 2

Previously on Dimensional Impact: Adventures In Teyvat. . .

Our heroes find something strange about Albedo when they talk to Timaeus and Sucrose. Thinking that they should investigate, they also see that an event with the Adventurers' Guild is going on as Amber and Eula were participating in the event. As they were joining in on the fun, they run into Albedo again as the alchemist decides to take them to his camp, only to find it ruined by a mysterious thief. With the tracks they left behind, the group chased the thief down into a cave, but not before they discover that Bennett, the unlucky adventurer was captured by some Fatui and they free him. Eula brings up new news to say that she saw Albedo attack her and the only conclusion that the alchemist could make was that there was a fake on the loose. Is Albedo telling the truth or is there something that this alchemist is not telling us?

Now back to where we left off. . .

Adhering to their plan, Jordan and Nintega left Dragonspine to help out the Adventurers' Guild while Shadow and Lumine stayed to survey the area of the fake Albedo to see if they might appear again. Unfortunately for those two, the fake was nowhere to be found. Considering that if Jean or Lisa catches them back in Mondstadt, the group knew that their best bet would be to camp out for some of the days. Once a couple of days passed by, the group decide to return back to Albedo's camp as the Chief Alchemist looked to be trying to investigate as well.

Paimon: Albedo, we're here!

Albedo: Ah, Honorary Knights.

TheNintegaGuy: How's the investigation coming along?

His question led to Albedo gaining a worried expression.

Albedo: ...Your faces say that, perhaps, you haven't turned up anything?

Jordanwolfboy9743: *sigh* Sadly, no one that even remotely looked like you turned up anywhere in Mondstadt.

Albedo: This is not unexpected. I haven't made much progress either. He appears to know that we're looking for him, and has opted to lay low for the time being.

Lumine: (Or maybe he has always operated discreetly.)

She thought, looking down.

Albedo: Still, there is one thing I found. I discovered footprints on some parts of the mountain, and although they were a little covered in snow, I could tell they had been left by someone of a similar size to myself. The footprints were quite numerous, so I believe my next step will be to rule out each of the adventurers active on Dragonspine one by one...

Shadowlight2784: I think we can help in that department. It's a good thing we know a bunch of the adventurers from the Guild itself, huh?

Paimon: So, now we-

Suddenly, the ground beneath everyone shook like an earthquake as the sounds of falling boulders followed soon after, shocking and scaring everyone around as they looked all over the place on guard for anything. Luckily, the tremor quickly stopped.

Paimon: Aaaah! What was that!?

Albedo walks ahead and points to the left of his campsite.

Albedo: It came from that direction.

Paimon: Could it be the impostor?

TheNintegaGuy: Whoever or whatever it is, let's get going before someone on the mountain gets hurt!

Paimon: *nods* Yeah, let's hurry!

The group headed west of the campsite to investigate what the cause of the sudden earthquake was and after a short distance, they came across a large pile of rocks next to the mountain that were also guarded by a couple of boars as well.
