I decided to make a Kazuscara fanfic bc I was on vacation with no wifi for a week.
Man- the things I do when I'm bored—

Ok, so some things to clear up:
-first of all, Scaramouche (Kunikuzushi) is transgender in this And his family isn't supportive of it.

He goes by Kunikuzushi, (at first) and his deadname is Mariko, for the sake of plot involved with Ei in it.

This is also a transphobia warning, Ei and Shogun ( Nickname: Shou) are transphobic and deadname Kunikuzushi a lot so just clearing that up.

-the vision hunt decree doesn't exist in the beginning of this

-no, I am not writing smut. Go drink holy water /hj

It was another ordinary day, Kunikuzushi woke up in his room tired as hell from staying up all night. Typical.

As he rubbed his eyes and sat up, he saw his sister through the crack of his open door.

Oh archons, what did she want this time—

"Mariko," she commanded.
"mom has to tell us something about the upcoming Iridori festival this year, get downstairs quickly."
She continued walking downstairs.

Kunikuzushi stood up in annoyance.
He was confused as to what his mother could possibly want with him over the Iridori festival.
After all she barely ever payed attention to him, and when she did it was always about something he did wrong.
Shogun (Shou) was always the golden child in their household, and Ei always treated her like it.
Still, he went downstairs anyways; didn't want to get on his mother's nerves this early on in the day.
He sat down at the table with his sister, and mother.

"So, as you girls know, the Iridori festival is coming up.
Given that we are the Shogunate family of Inazuma, we must look presetable.
Miko went through a strenuous amount of work to arrange this festival, and we must demonstrate our appreciation for her hard work in of Inazuma.

As such, I had Lady Mio craft our outfits for the festival. She is a trusted dressmaker of Inazuma who put a lot of time and detail into our outfits.
We will be wearing them during the day of the festival parade."

Oh great- another festival I have to spend with my family that hates me.
Tch, I hate wearing dresses

Kunikuzushi just sat there with a look of disgust on his face.

Ei immediately noticed.
"Mariko, why are you staring at me like that?"

Kunikuzushi snapped out of his thoughts, and looked away.

"Answer me right now, young lady!"
Kunikuzushi stayed silent.
Ei walked up closer up to him— "Its about the outfits isn't it?" She said standing close to his face.

Kunikuzushi tensed up.

"I'm no fool; Mariko. This is all that nonsense about you wanting to be a boy, isn't it?
I have no idea why you still insist on that pointless delusion after all this time, as its nothing but pure nonsense.
You are a GIRL Mariko, and you will not go against that in this household.
I created you and your sister to be part of this family, raised and cared for you both, and as such you must demonstrate presentable actions for our family's legacy.
This is unacceptable."

"Yeah, as if you ever gave a flying fuck about me, you only ever cared about is your reputation," he muttered.

Ei's eyes widen in anger at this as she slapped him across the face.
"Get out of my presence, and don't come out until you show some respect... or else."

"Tch" Kunikuzushi walked away back to his room as fast as possible.

Shou was unfazed the whole time, and immediately resumed discussing important matters with Ei.

Kunikuzushi sat behind his door in the corner. He hated living like this so much, and despised his family for the way they treated him.
Sure, he was used to not getting much attention, however things became worse after he was accidentally outted about his gender identity.

He wanted to get rid of them; make them pay for all they did to him. As he sat in slience, tears started welling in his eyes, he immediately noticed and wiped them away.

"No- stop! I hate these worthless emotions!"
He said as he realized he couldn't deal with staying here for the rest of the day.

Not like Ei would give a damn about where he is for the rest of this boring as ever day, so he opened the window, made sure he had his phone before climbing out.
He slid down the roof of the mansion he and his family lived in.
He ran through the bushes, to his best friend's place.

As he approached the place, he made sure no one was in sight and went up to Kazuha's window, using his minimal flying power.
Surely enough, he was sitting there peacefully in his room.
He knocked on the window.
Kazuha saw him and he opened the window.

"Kuni? "What are you doing here?"

"Hey dumbass," Kunikuzushi said with a slight smile on his face, looking down.

"What happened?" Kazuha asked softly, helping him in before shutting the window.

"Oh, just my family being bitchy towards me again, as usual. I couldn't stand it this time, so I left.
Not like they care anyway."
Kuni looked down, and Kazuha saw his face full of emptiness.
He scooted closer and gently wrapped his arms around him.
Kuni flinched for a second, but hugged back quietly sobbing into his friend's shoulder.

"Shhh, its ok... I'm here Kuni, don't worry."

They stayed like that for a few minutes before pulling away.

"You know... you could've just knocked on the door, my parents are fine with you being here, and don't have anything against it."

Kunikuzushi looked up at Kazuha.
"Meh I know, I just didn't want to face anyone else in else in my current state.
Just tell your parents the truth about me coming through the window if they see me."

Kazuha nodded "alright then. Well, are you hungry Kuni? Beidou will probably be making dinner in a few minutes."

"Sure, but don't you-"

"its fine. You're here now so its ok." Kazuha smiled.

Kazuha lended Kunkuzushi a change of clothes which were much better than the clothes he had at home.
His mother wouldn't let him buy or wear clothes he wanted, and insisted he matched his sister.

Once he was done changing, they both walked downstairs to be met by Beidou, who saw them and walked up to them.
Ningguang was sitting down at the table reading a newspaper.

"Heyyyy Kazuha! Oh- and hey Kunikuzushi- wait, how'd you get here?"

Kazuha didn't want to mention anything Kuni's home life to his parents, as he wasn't sure if he was comfortable with Beidou knowing.
He decided to go with a white lie.
"Oh yeah, we were enjoying the breeze outside and decided to go back in through the window. Sorry about that mom!" Kazuha said.

"Thats ok, don't sweat it son!" Beidou said, as Kuni sighed in relief.

It was always so nice being at Kazuha's house, and felt more like he was home than in his own home.
Kazuha had such chill and welcoming parents that have done nothing but help him all the times he's come over throughout the years.
After an endearing lunch with everyone, Kazuha and Kuni walked back up to his room.
They sat on the bed and decided to watch movie and play video games, until falling asleep in each other's arms.
