Pi-pom Pi-Pom Pi-Pom

The sound of ambulance sirens echoed through the city where a house in which a family of four resided was located.

It was early morning, on the 4th day since the transformation.

The city wasn't silent at all.

The heavy rain falling from the heavens above didn't disturb the bustling city, the capital of North-Eastern Indica.

For some, this day was fortunate, and for some, it wasn't.

Unfortunately, Merlin Avalon belonged to the latter...

....

[ Merlin's POV]

How long had I been lying down on this bed?

I didn't know.

Knowing the fact that this wasn't, in fact, a bad dream was surreal, to say the least.

Slightly changing my position, I turned to face the window.

" Ah? It's raining..."

The pittering of rain brought some amount of peace to me.

"How...peaceful..." I muttered slowly to myself. Before all of this, I still loved the pittering sound of rain. It always brought a peaceful atmosphere to me.

But now, I loved the rain much more than before.

I closed my eyes.

" I feel so tired ..." I muttered weakly.

Maybe this mental tiredness would never go away.

Knock Knock

The resounding knocks on the door disturbed the fake tranquillity I was feeling.

I sat up in the bed on reflex.

Knock knock

The knocking resounded once again.

' S-Should I open it...?'

The sound of rainfall also seemed to fade away into the background.

I questioned myself, I didn't want to...

I feared, I feared myself.

Not for who I am, but for the reaction of others around me.

BaDump BaDump...

I slowly got up from the bed and inched closer to the door, slowly and steadily.

My heart was still beating rapidly, or was it?

I didn't know...

As my hand landed on the handle and I gripped it, seemingly to open it.

I grew fearful once again...

Who is it? Ann? Father ? Or perhaps Mother?

Gulp

I gulped, probably from fear.

My grip around the handle tightened , and I gathered my courage to finally open.

Creak!

I twisted the handle.

With a creaking sound, the door opened.
