ELIZABETH KESTER WAS AN ESCAPEE. she couldn't remember when she did escape, but she remembered the torture she endured. she remembered the tattoo gun that gave her the number '012' and how her four year old self cried for days. she remembered being thrown into a room whenever she screwed up with her abilities. she remembered her papa would punish her for not making someone think the way that he wanted. she remembered when she ran out of the lab after killing the guards that got in her way, and she ran until she couldn't anymore.

MATTHEW KESTER lived alone with a dog. his daughter died when she was 13 from a car crash, that claimed the life of his beloved wife. he never expected a girl to show up on his doorstep, buzzed head and blood running down from her nose, saying only one word 'help'. knowing that this was serious, he contacted his good friend jim hopper, and they both decided to hide the girl until she was unrecognizable.

WHEN ELIZABETH TURNED 17, matthew decided to send her to hawkins high school, just to finish school for two more years. her hair was longer, her features changed, and if she ever could move on from the torture she endured, she needed a job. on the first day, steve harrington and his friends immediately tried to get her in the group.

WILL BYERS WENT MISSING A FEW DAYS AFTER ELIZABETH SHOWED UP. everyone thought he was a runaway, but elizabeth knew it was more than that. she knew the lab had something to do with his disappearance. as she went exploring, looking for will too, she runs into a group of kids and a girl with a buzzed head. elizabeth had one choice, and that was to help the group, and the girl, and save them from the horrific things hawkins had hidden below the ground... elizabeth had to make sure that lab burned to the ground, and she needed to be the reason.
