SALVADOR DALI: THE ACCOMMODATOINS OF DESIRE

"Okay Evan, but seriously

you cannot deny that Dali

paints strange artwork."

Okay, true

but that doesn't mean

he took drugs, babe.

"Fine, I'm done

debating with you!

I'm waving my white flag,

I surrender, jerk."

She playfully pushes,

but I grab her on time

to pull her in for a kiss.

"Do you know what

this painting reminds me of?"

Hmm?

"Sushi.

Can we go for some?"

We, most definitely can.

"Awesome. But first,

I'm heading to the bathroom.

Meet you at the entrance, okay?"

Nodding,

we temporally split ways.

I started working early

and leaving during noon.

It was a great schedule.

When I reached the entrance,

a familiar face was waiting at the doors.

I attempted to leave,

so I wouldn't have to confront her,

but it was too late.

"Evan!"

My failed attempt

forced me to turn around

and greet her.

Hello. Paloma!

She reached for a hug,

and out of kindness,

I let her.

Don't you have a restraining

order from coming here?

"Yeah, but Campbell doesn't

come in today and

plus I need to pick

up my sister."

Sister?

"Well, technically,

halfsister."

Oh no.

"We have to go

take care of some family issues.

Plus, I wanted to see you.

After we kissed,

you just left without

any words"

All of a sudden,

I felt like I've forgotten

how to speak.

Paloma kept

leaning in closer,

and I felt frozen in place

She was just a few

inches away when...

"Lo,

what the hell are you doing?"

Lydia came in-between

and pushed Paloma away.

Lo?

"Wait a minute.

Lydia, he's the one

you were talking about

to mom?"

She talked to her

mom about me?

"Mona seriously,

I've seen you do low things,

but this just tops all of them!"

Paloma laughs

and looks at me.

"You haven't told her,

haven't you?"

And just like that,

Lydia looked at me

not wanting to believe

her thoughts.

"Evan, tell me what?"

I could hear in her tone,

she didn't want to be right.

She wanted me to swear

that Paloma was lying.

We kissed but-

"Stop. That's all I need to know."

She sucked her lips in,

her eyes watered,

and gave me a final look.

The pale green eyes

that I saw two months ago,

became filled with betrayal.

All it took

was two words.

The girl,

who I was certain

was the one,

left.

Paloma stood there

not ashamed of what

she did to her own sister.

"Well,

gotta go take care

of family issues

and apparently

her feelings as well."

For the best,

I kept my mouth shut.

The only thing I

never want to do occurred:

hurt that precious soul.
