Chapter Thirteen: Into The Darkness
(Psychosis, Part 2)

Fear.
That was all Jordan Rutcher was feeling, all she was capable of feeling. Fear pulsed through her like a second heart, exacerbating her heartbeat to frightening speeds as her blood shivered with the chill of fear rapidly flowing through her bloodstream, throughout her entire body, leaving her no escape. Her fingers were white on the railing, holding it tightly because if she let go then she'd plummet into the darkness, to her death, and her hands were getting slippery with sweat and she had to hold on, she had to hold on!
"Jordan!" Emily sobbed, letting Emily know she wasn't the only person clinging for dear life on the tower.
"I'm here! I'm here, Em! We're gonna be okay," Jordan assured, though she didn't know whether she was lying or not.
The tower shook, and Jordan let out a scream, tightening her grip further, heart thundering inside her chest.
"MATT!" she screamed.
"MATT WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU?!" Emily screamed out, terror in her voice as the tower slid further out before screeching to a stop as Jordan and Emily screamed and clung on tighter, but Jordan's grip was slipping, she was going to fall, oh God!
Finally, Matt appeared as the tower shook again.
"MATT!" Emily cried out.
"MATT STOP SHAKING THE GODDAMN TOWER!" Jordan screamed, just as her fingers slipped.
"OH FUCK!" she shrieked, tightening her grip, but her time was running out. She had to get to safety.
"OH GOD MATT HELP US PLEASE!" Emily begged.
"I'm comin'!" he yelled, appearing over the edge. "I'm comin'!"
Creeping over to the edge, he yelled, "Em, Jordan, this is pretty unsteady over here."
"Matt, you've got to do something right now or Jordan's gonna fall! What are you WAITING FOR?!" Emily screamed.
"Just—I'm thinking! Let me think!" Matt yelled.
"Don't think, you idiot, just get me and Jordan outta here!" Emily yelled.
Looking at Jordan, the one in the most danger, he said, "Jordan, try to climb up! I'll try to get you!"
Jordan nodded, reaching for the railing above her, hoisting herself up. Her arms, mostly her shoulders, screamed in agony as Matt moved to her, hand out for her, yelling, "Hold on!"
"Matt, SAVE HER! Save my best friend right now you idiot!" Emily shrieked.
"I am!" Matt shouted before he looked at Jordan. "Grab my hand! NOW!"
Jordan reached up, straining for Matt's hand, terror and desperation pounding through her, everything in her screaming—
She grabbed Matt's hand and he pulled her over to relative safety as Emily sobbed in relief, seeing Jordan safe, as Matt turned to Emily. "Hold on, Em!"
"I am holding on, now just get me outta here!" Emily shouted.
Looking at Emily, Matt said, "Emily, you're upset. You need to calm down. You're gonna be fine. I'll get you out of there just like I did with Jordan."
"Stop talking, I can't take it!" Emily yelled.
"Stop yelling at me and let me work this out okay?" Matt shouted back.
"No, you stop it! Why do you have to question every little thing I say! I'm goddamned sick of it!" Emily shouted.
"Em, calm down! Matt's trying to save you, like he saved me! Let him do that without us all being killed, and you shouting insults at him in the process doesn't help!" Jordan shouted.
Emily grew quiet, but she glared at Matt as he said, "I'm gonna try and get to you and pull you up—I don't know if this stable enough for you to climb up like Jordan did."
"Okay! Now will you please get me off this goddamned tower?! Please, please, please, Matt! Just do something!" Emily demanded.
Matt panted, trying to find a way to get Emily to safety, until the tower inched forward again, tilting further into darkness.
"Shit!" Jordan screeched. "Matt, hurry!"
"Hold on, Emily! I'll save you. Jordan, help me! Climb down and get Emily!" Matt yelled, standing up as he leaned forward and stretched out a hand for Emily.
Jordan nodded, climbing down partway. Her heart shuddered in her chest as she stretched out her hand. "Hold on Em! We're gonna get you out of here!"
Emily reached up, grabbing her hand. But just as Jordan was about to haul Emily up and have Matt pull her to safety, the tower lurched forward.
The force had Emily fall down further from the tower. Jordan almost followed after her if Matt didn't grab her and pull her up, as now Emily clung to the railing.
"Matt! Jordan! Jesus!" Emily yelled.
"I'm just trying to find the safest way for me and Jordan to get to you," Matt told her.
"You need to hold on a little longer, Em, but we're coming!" Jordan promised.
"Matt, you idiot, just get me out of here!" Emily yelled.
Matt raised his hands as the tower teetered over the edge, Jordan's heart juddering as she shrieked, "Matt, HURRY!"
Jordan went to the edge, about to climb down and pull Emily up to safety—but as she was, Matt jumped to the other side and the tower fell down, Jordan holding onto the edge of the platform as the tower wth her and Emily still on it tumbled into the darkness as they screamed, their screams drowned out by the roar and screech of metal. As it did, Jordan's head cracked across the wood as the tower descended into the void waiting to swallow her and Emily up whole, pain searing through her as her vision whited out.
The last thing Jordan heard before it all went dark was Matt shouting distantly, "EMILY! JORDAN!"
Then nothing.

Yeah, Jordan almost fell to her death and made the prophecy come true if Matt didn't help her up just in time (and yeah, Emily was more worried about Matt saving Jordan than herself) and then tried to save Emily
But it all came to naught as the tower fell and Matt jumped to safety, with Emily and Jordan now in the mines and Jordan knocked unconscious for a little while—or is it just unconsciousness? >:)
Also, we're more than halfway through the game!! This is gonna be a LOT shorter than my The Quarry fic, depending. Let's just see where it goes >:)
