Artemis pov

I rested on my bed reminiscing about my relationship with Wally like I always do. God I miss him but he's moved on I haven't talked to him in years. When we were younger down in the park we'd play till dark. He's got new friends now it's all in the past now. This place is the same as it ever was but he doesn't like it that way. I sat at my desk and got my note pad out.

but it's never too late
to come back to my side
the stars in your eyes
shined brighter in Tupelo
and if you're ever tired of being known
for who you know
you know, you'll always know me

I signed the bottom of the page deciding whether to publish it or not, as I was contemplating my phone rang, it was zatana my best friend, I answered her

"Artemis" she yelled "yea? Are you okay?" I replied my voice calm "Wally's back...." My heart stopped I tried maintaining my voice "what?" "He came back to see his parents" "I gotta go someone's calling" I hung up and Wally's mom was calling me, oh no, I answered the phone "hello?" I said "hi, Artemis dear I wanted to ask if you wanted to come over to dinner tomorrow, I invited your parents and would love if you came, rekindle our friendship now that Wally' back" I can't say no, she was my mother figure I couldn't just say no "yea sure" "oh that's great see you tomorrow" I could hear her smile, I hung up and texted Wally I just hope he didn't change his number

Hey, your mom said dinner tomorrow, just wanted to talk maybe go for coffee today?
So tomorrow won't be awkward.

hey arty, yea of course, 3 good?

                                                                                                                                     Yea perfect.

It was around 2 now so I should probably get ready, I brushed my hair and put it up, applied light blush and headed to the only café there was it's really small town, I arrived 5 minutes early just to find him already there at the back of the café, I walked over and sat down. God he hasn't changed that much his fluffy ginger hair and his emerald green eyes. I missed those....

Snap out of it

"Hey arty" "hi" the tension was really thick, "look, I'm sorry I left you and just disappeared without telling you, I just couldn't bring myself to tell you I couldn't look into your eyes and know that I'm leaving and that your going to cry I just couldn't handle that, that doesn't justify what I did but just know I never got close to anybody like I did with you I hope you can forgive me if you do I'll leave my career I'll stay here" he looked at me pleading, I was shocked I didn't expect this apology "I forgive you" his smile lit up "so are you staying?" I asked "yea I'm never leaving unless you do" I can't believe he was staying for me, to say I was overjoyed was an understatement.

We went back to my house and hung out

Let's just say dinner the next day won't be so miserable
