Dandelions

{Chapter 4} The First Time I Saw Her

Del is way too busy munching on her chocolate buns that she's not even paying attention to the Gemstones' talk, nor she's not even talking, and not even noticing the multiple glances that came from Caleb and Katherine who keeps glancing at them both while smiling

"Del! Why aren't you talking!?" Jake asked while pointing at her which the entire table turns to look at her

"Hmmm...?" Del looks at Jake with a new full bun stuffed to her mouth while holding it with both hands

"Yes, please talk to us Del" Ann hugs Del as Del almost drops the bun she's eating

"!!!"

"Ann, give her some space, she clearly enjoys eating" Caleb scolds Ann who is hugging Del with full strength

'Umm....no I don't...' Del thought

"Just let her have a great time eating" Katherine said staring at Ann with a scolding expression which made Ann to let go off of Del

'Phew' Del finishes the chocolate bun as she takes out another bun, she's excited to eat it because it's strawberry flavor

"Oh and by the way Del, do you want to come with us to the amusement park? It's going to be fun" Jake excitedly asks Del who is not looking at him but she's still listening

"Yes! Come with us please!" Ann yelled at Del's ears which startled her a bit

"Guys please...." Katherine looks like she's stressing out because of the two

"Guys...." And also Caleb who is also understanding the situation of Del who is just trying to have her lunch but keeps getting interrupted by Ann and Jake

"No, I'm not going" Del said straight up without looking at them, Jake and Ann felt like lightning just struck them, while Katherine nods understanding with Caleb who also nods understanding but is also disappointed

'I don't want to have fun while mom is in the hospital....what is something bad happens to mom and dad while I'm having fun?'

Del thought as her expression darkened and very worried

'and also, I can't afford to go to an amusement park'

"Aww, Del why not?" Ann asks disappointed because Del doesn't want to come, which is half true and half false

Caleb looks at Del and sees her dark expression which worries him because she indeed looks worried "Are you okay?"

Del snaps out of her thoughts and looks at Caleb "hmmm...." She nods signalling she's okay then takes a bite out of the strawberry buns as her eyes sparkled

"Ehem...excuse me, I'm heading to the bathroom" Caleb stands up then walks away the table

"I'll go too" Katherine also stands up and follows Caleb

'Wait don't leave me!'

With Caleb and Katherine...

Caleb is ahead of Katherine and she hurries up to catch up to him "Wait up!"

Caleb looks back and sees Katherine catch up "You can't go to the boy's bathroom" Caleb jokes

"I know, but I know something too" Katherine said which causes him to glance at her

"And what is that?" He asks her as she smiles, she goes close to his ears

"You have a crush on Del~" she whispered which made Caleb to stop on his tracks and she backs up she sees his cheeks turning pink

"How?" He asks with his pink flushed face

"The way you look at her, how you're very worried and how your expression changes from sad to happy when you see her, it's easy" she explains while grinning as Caleb sighs

"I guess you're right....I just couldn't help it, that's what I feel about her...." He covers his face with both his hands to hide his embarrassment

"Don't be shy, tell me how you had a crush on her~" she teases

"Later, I need to pee" he immediately runs towards the boy's bathroom hall as fast as he can still covering his face except for his eyes so he can see where he's going

"Haha...how cute for the two if they date in the future"

Katherine kept bugging Caleb to tell her how he had a crush on Del, because she's very curious "Please, tell me!"

"Fine, so it is when...."

Flashback....

.
Caleb and his driver are riding in a white car as he stares out the window full of boredom "sigh...."

They are passing by a huge field filled with dandelions and most of it has turned white. They just came back from another trip, so he's heading home with the driver, he kept staring out the window

"Young Master, what seems to be the problem?" The butler asks as soon as he hears Caleb sighs

"Alfred...what is a crush?" He decides to ask a random question as he stares out the window watching as the wind flew by as many of the dandelion seeds are flying with it

"Well....it is something that you feel like you admired that person and idolize them, but some people say that it is similar to in love or liking someone" the driver, named Alfred explains what he knows as Caleb nods boredly

'An idol or admiration? Or liking someone....sounds dumb to be honest...' he only stares outside the window until....

Something or someone caught his attention...

He spots someone who is a little girl standing in the field surrounded by dandelions, she wears a white dress and her sleeves reach only her upper arms. He couldn't see her face, but she has brown hair that is tied to a pigtail and both her hair and dress are like dancing through the wind

"Who..." He muttered under his breath because he couldn't take his eyes off the girl

Somehow, the little girl felt as if someone was looking at her, so she turned her head as he finally saw her face even though it's in the distance, she has brown eyes and her face was adorable, she looked at him from the field so he immediately looked away l, hoping she wouldn't recognize him

The driver notices Cale's sudden movement "what's wrong, Young Master?"

"N-nothing...." Caleb stutters while hiding in the car, he looks back at the field and the little girl is nowhere to be seen...and he ends up thinking about her for the rest of the day

"Awwww, love at first sight huh?" Katherine teased the red Caleb

"J-just don't tell her or anyone, especially Ann and Jake" he said still covering his face

"Don't worry I won't, come now, let's head back to the cafeteria" she reminds and he nods as they went back to the cafeteria

As soon as they reached the cafeteria, they see Cedric crossing his arms beside the door

"Hey Blondie, I need to ask you something"
