"Say master geto" Nanako spoke as she brushed the man's hair whilst mimiko sat beside him
"Who's satoru gojo? Is he strong?" She asked
"Yeah. He used to be my friend, but we fought and haven't seen each-other since" Geto hummed
"What about the girl?" Mimiko asked, earning a "hm?" From suguru
"You said she was your sister is that true?"
"Yeah! You never told us that before" Nanako gasped
"Yes" Geto nodded
"I had a sister, her name was Saeri"
"But that's in the past"
"Her breathing is back to normal and she's eating properly" Shoko hummed, Satoru letting out a sigh of relief
"So then what was the problem?" He asked, maki and Yuta listening from behind the walls whilst Toge and panda stood behind the opposite ones
"The problem was her heart" Shoko stated, the first years sharing a look of confusion
"Saeri should've died after suguru stabbed her ten years ago, but her developing a cursed technique and that curse caused her body to develop and preform reversed cursed technique"
"However, at the age of five there was only so much she could do" She stated, Gojo staring at her with a concerned look "in other words it's Hensetsu who's been keeping Saeri alive, that curse quite literally keeps her heart beating"
"If she had lost control of that curse for just a few minutes more, that wound would've opened up again and we would've lost her"
"Lost her?!" Yuta yelled
"Idiot!" Maki huffed, kicking the boy out of their hiding spot
"Oh wow they heard" Shoko said in an unenthusiastic tone, making her way back out of the hospital rooms
"Sorry satoru" Panda called out as he and Toge revealed their hiding spots
"Awe you guys were so that worried?" Satoru grinned, but something about his smile felt even more forged than his usual ones
"I'm not mad" he shrugged "you can go visit her if you lik—" he managed to get out before maki barged past him and into Saeris room
"Your hairs down" Maki hummed and she stared at her best friend, Saeris glasses were on, her hair was not in its usual hairstyle and she wore a tired and troubled look
"Yeah, makes me look more like him" She muttered as the zenin sat on the edge of her bed
"So thats who gave you your scar" Maki hummed, lightly placing her hands over the area Saeris scar was
"You're the only one other than the principal, satoru and shoko who've seen it" Saeri reminded her
"Hm, I feel honoured" the zenin smiled before pinking Saeris cheeks "hey, don't feel bad about acting that way, if I saw my crazy brother who attcked me and my entire family I would've died on the spot"
"That's the thing maki" Saeri grumbled "I nearly did die"
"I thought I was finally over it, I even kept this stupid sword" She huffed "but in that moment he might as well have stabbed me in the heart again"
"Saeri don't be so hard on yourself" Maki frowned "you're strong, way stronger than me, you literally got stabbed in the heart at the age of five and was left for dead"
"And how did you respond to that? You discovered reversed cursed technique! Only three other sorcerers can do that" Maki shook her
"If anyone else was in your situation there's no way they would've been able to handle it as perfectly as you did, so pull yourself together" she flicked her forehead
"Plus you better recover soon because yuta won't sleep" Maki sighed
"I know, I can feel him taking naps outside my door" Saeri chuckled "it's sweet"
"Yuck" Maki gagged, a knock on the door interrupting the duo
"Come in" Saeri spoke, Toge making his way in with a bag of snacks whilst yuta peeks from outside of the door, a furry paw pushing him in
"Salted roe" Toge spoke, holding a thumbs up
"You're doing great!" Panda translated, making a heart sign with his hands
"Thanks you two" Saeri hummed, watching the two preform with a smile for the first time instead of hitting them
"I would hit you two but Saeri seems to be enjoying it" Maki grumbled
"Saeri loves our performances!" Panda smiled
"Salmon salmon!" Toge agreed, maki looking back at Saeri who's eyes weren't on the duo but rather yuta who stood behind them nervously
"Alright that's enought" Maki spoke, grabbing panda and Toge and taking them out of the room
"Saeri needs to rest" She stated, yuta attempting to make his way out only for maki to slam the door in his face
"Not you!" She yelled, yuta returning to his corner
A silnce engulfed him and Saeri, it was both awkward and comforting
"Thank you for keeping me company" Saeri spoke up, yuta looking up at her with a puzzled expression
"At night, you sleep outside of my hospital room" She reworded her statement "you could've come inside"
"Oh! It was nothing, I just didn't want to disturb you" Yuta awkwardly smiled, Saeri waving him over
"You being here isn't a disturbance yuta" She spoke "stop treating yourself like one."
At this, yuta let out a small sigh, taking seat by her bedside "I'm sorry Saeri" he spoke, holding onto her hand
"For what?" She said in a puzzled tone
"I could see how much pain you were in when he arrived and I did nothing" he stated "you could've died and I still didn't interfere, I'm sorry"
"Yuta what are you talking about?" Saeri questioned "You tried to separate us"
"Not physically" He stated, a sudden hug from Saeri causing him to tense up
"I'm grateful yuta, really" She hummed, her voice soothing him
"You are?"
"Yes, what would I do without you?" She smiled, playing with his hair
"Can we stay like this for a bit?" Yuta mustered up the courage to ask
"You missed me that much?" Saeri smiled, yuta nodding "it's only been a few days"
"Saeri why the fuck am I hearing you're in the hospit—" Megumi began as he opened the door, that and Saeri scrambling off of one another
"Did I miss anything?" He muttered, yuta staring at him with wide eyes whilst Saeri wore her normal one
"Nope" She shook her head, megumi shrugging and jumping onto the bed
"So you know I'm injured and you're still trying to kill me??" Saeri huffed, slapping megumis shoulder again and again
"Ow! I'm trying to be thoughtful!" He huffed
"You call that thoughtful??"
"Yes" megumi elbowed her, Saeri pinching his ear prompting him to bite her
"Ew you animal!" She gagged, yuta letting out a small laugh at their antics
