There was a battle on Cavalry

When on the Cross He'd died

Crucified, wounded,

Never defeated:

The Lord faced death

and He Conquered.

Our Lord died on the cross for us.

Then death died inside His tomb forever.

faced with darkness and our sin-

Lord, we should've known You'd win!

As He rose

He broke its chains

death's grip failed;

Christ's Life prevailed.

, and

death

died

that

day

When Christ rose radiant from the grave!

Slaying the impending doom

He snatched us from its jaw.

All fear of death

all hopelessness

left conquered at the cross.

all transience

by His Grace swept away!

For eternity make way!

Abundant life that never fades

He won for us

once death He slayed.

He cleansed our sin with Holy Blood

And with it our mortality-

washed off by the Lifeblood of the Living One!

The end has fled from His Great Power,

The grave

replaced with

Grace.

Behold- The Savior died and is alive forevermore!

The power of death left void.

"O Hades, where is your victory?

O Death, where is your sting?"

The Lord has snatched it all away

Against it He did win!

"Death is swallowed up in victory."

Praise the Conqueror, Amen!

He bore its sting in steadfast love

and rose above

Yes, death died that day.

Jesus took its sting away!

He is Risen!

He's not conquered like the enemy He crushed.

Yes, He fought our grim battle

the Valiant King

He did win!

and with His Triumph's ablaze

the victory to us He graciously gives..

With freedom graced and broken chains

We're free to dance atop death's grave

Rejoicing in eternal life

Let's sing the Victor's praise!

The One who won once and for all

The Christ whom God did raise!
