I walked down the school hallway slowly, towering over a majority of the students. They all began to part, creating a path down the center, each falling silent as I passed them.

Half way down the hall, the sea of students continued to part, except one. He stood stubbornly, continuing to talk to the boy in front of him, ignoring me completely. I came to a stop in front of his shoulder.

The student body turned to my direction as hushed whispers and gasps became littered around the hall, yet the boy, who I didn't recognize, completely overlooked the fact that he was the only one talking.

This kid was shorter than me by about a foot. He had tanned skin with dark hair hanging over his forehead. His eyes were large and had a soft, yet cocky, feel to them. He knew exactly what he was doing.

Finally, he finished talking and was left in the middle of the hallway, right in front of me, but still facing away. When he decided to look up and acknowledge me, he stared me right in the eyes and opened his mouth.

"Can I help you, Lachlan?"
