He rubbed the scruff of his beard, slowly nodding as the pounding on the basement door ceased, the child they had kidnapped cries and bangs seemed to gradually stop.
The wife reached over, her fingers wrapping around the man's wrist, she smiled at her husband, a sweet look in her eyes. "We've got our angel back.." she whispered softly, a sickening, almost bitter tone to it, placing a kiss on his cheek before leaning her head on his shoulder.
