At the insistence of one of your closest friends, Satoru Gojo, you had to investigate a restaurant arson scene down in Shinjuku." You know, I heard the scene is not for the weak. So obviously, you are going!!" He said with a contagious smile that almost made you want to punch him.
Too bad for that infinity...
"So you are making me work overtime now? I should get something in return, don't you think?" You said, only jokingly.
You were obviously not expecting anything from him. Along with him, you would usually take the difficult cases, so naturally you would only accept his proposal.
His overly happy attitude was just making it annoying to you.
"I trust you the most. You are the strongest, after all. Well, after me, of course." He bragged, ignoring your question.
"Is that supposed to help my case? I am still working overtime." You complained.
He was clearly in a good mood and you were not having it at the moment.
"I just complimented you, I think that should do it. I mean I can do it more if that's what you want." He smirked, knowing his comment will struck a nerve on you.
And it definitely did. His way with words was something that would sometimes give you headaches.
You were so different in that aspect but nonetheless, you cared about him more than enough to put up with it.
Also, you didn't actually mind extra work. You believed it gave no time to think about your feelings.
"I can never win with you, that's for sure." You replied, letting out a sigh.
"I will make up for it. You know I will." He promised you, looking with a serious face.
"Don't bother. I'll do it anyways."
—
So, here you were.
He was indeed right. The sight could easily disturb anyone common. You thought this restaurant arson might be qualified as one of the most atrocious cases you've encountered so far.
As you entered the scene, the place was filled with intense cursed energy. You were pretty sure this was a special grade's doing. No one could have survived even if they tried to.
Special grade activity all of the sudden? Why now?
This is definitely not good.
On the other hand, there was something else that was bothering you even more.
I might all be in my head but is part of it his cursed energy?
You thought there was no way it could be happening but for a moment you thought you sensed his presence at the scene.
You prayed it was all in your head but you were not so sure about it.
He is dead. For over a year now. It can't be happening...
Later on, you arrived at Jujutsu High. You were finishing your report on the today's investigation when you encountered Gojo for the second time today, who looked happy to see you again.
You wanted to get your mind off of the overbearing situation from the scene, so it seemed you were now dealing with another one of Gojo's crazy ideas.
"I am going out of town for a mission, so I figured you could take my place as the teacher for the first year students. " He suddenly suggested.
You laughed at his words, clearly thinking he was out of his mind.
"Satoru, you are 28 and already giving signs of dementia? Please tell me you are joking."You had little experience with handling young sorcerers, especially in a encountering of this sort. You thought it was not the time to start now.
"All you do is paperwork. You are seriously boring. " He complained, getting one of the papers and took a confused look at it.
"That's my job." You took back the paper as you spoke. "What makes you think I am going to say yes?" You asked, raising your eyebrows.
"Because you're going to like it." He said. "Aaand because you would do anything for me??" He was practically begging at this point.
Unfortunately, I would.
"Why are you always putting in me situations I can't really say no to?"
You whined, thinking of how you always seemed to agree with his chaotic plans.
He was your weak spot, even though you would never admit it out loud.
So for his sake, you could only say yes, again.
"You are clearly in love with me, that's why." He said, leaning over you, messing with your hair.
"God, you're annoying. I will accept if it makes you leave, I have to concentrate here. But with one condition. You are bringing me-"
"Yes, strawberry mochi. I know."
He perfectly completed your sentence, looking proud at himself.
He would always get you something when he was going out for missions along with the sweets he would get for himself, so he was familiar with your preferences.
"You're going to love those kids. Just remember to smile from time to time, you know." He said while he was walking pleased towards the door.
"I'll literally curse you if things go wrong." You shouted after him.
"Yeah, yeah, love you too." He ignored you, making a heart out of his fingers as he left.
So now you were left to meet the kids.
This will be interesting enough...
