Bailey hated spiders. Those tiny, hairy, eight-legged creatures that seemed to pop up everywhere she looked . But as scary as spiders were, there was something even scarier to her: the idea of making new friends with total strangers.
It wasn't that Bailey didn't want to make new friends; it was just that the idea of walking up to someone she'd never met before and starting a conversation made her freeze up. This fear hit her hard on the first day of school when she realized she didn't have her best friend, Isabell, by her side from her old school.
Without Isabell to help her, Bailey felt totally lost in this new school, surrounded by faces she didn't recognize and hallways that seemed like a maze. She didn't know where to start a conversation with anyone. Bailey was stuck at a crossroads, feeling utterly clueless in this brand new school.
