Meyra followed Kalin into the castle. The interior had multiple chandeliers hung from a ceiling that looked like the galaxy. The stars on the ceiling flickered and slowly moved around in a circle. The chandeliers cast a soft light onto the floor below.
In the center of the room, there was a large blue circular object rotating in the air. It was surrounded by a golden metal holder. There were white puffs moving along with it as it spun, with green, brown, and white markings beneath the clouds.
The floor was polished as if it was a mirror. It reflected the stars from above, so it appeared people were dancing on the stars. Behind the circular object, there was a large tree that grew up and into the ceiling. It grew beyond the confines of the ceiling, its fruit out of reach.
Meyra stepped out of the entryway and onto the starlight dance floor. She felt her feet get lighter as she looked down. The floor was making her float just above the ground, as if there wasn't a floor to begin with. She thought, well that must be how they keep it clean.
A woman ran over to Meyra in a burgundy ball gown, gripping the front up in her hands. It had black undertones and shimmered in the light. She caught her breath as she looked at Meyra, with one green eye and one blue. Upon her head was a golden headpiece with dark red jewels and tendrils that came down the sides of her face.
In her hair were various jewels and charms sewn in. Markings covered her skin, light gold and made of thin lines. She had two large horns that came towards the front of her head. Her hair was a metallic gray, almost black in the poor lighting where Meyra was standing.
"Are you Meyra?" She asked once she had gotten herself together.
"Yes, I am with the security team. Can I help you with anything?" Meyra smiled.
"Oh wonderful, Drued told me all about you. I'm his wife, Daynai, the ruler of the draconic people." She smiled as she bowed to which Meyra awkwardly smiled and bowed back.
"You should be thanking your child. They brought me to Drued, I'm glad to hear he's doing well." Meyra smiled.
"Please come to us anytime that you need anything, I am indebted to you." She lowered her head and placed her hands into Meyra's.
"Actually, I was hoping to speak to you about something." Meyra pulled her away from the others and explained what was going on.
Daynai's large wings fluttered as she listened to Meyra. Her bangs fell into her eyes as she placed her head into her hand, sighing. She pushed her leather and metal bracelets up her arms as she crossed them. Her long tail swished against the floor, flicking up into her hand as she brushed through the hair on the tip.
"I've noticed the restlessness since I've arrived. I agree we need to get more people down here. I will send some of my best down to monitor."
"Is there an easy way for me to get in contact with you or your best people?" Meyra asked.
Daynai pulled out one of the scales in her neck. It was a deep brown like her skin, but extremely reflective like a mirror. She murmured something under her breath, and the scale turned gold. Daynai placed it in Meyra's hand.
"Double tap this scale and we will be connected directly. This is if we get to the point the bracelet doesn't work," She closed Meyra's hand around the scale, looking at Noven wearing the bracelet in her pocket.
Her ear twitched to the side and Daynai turned around. She apologized to Meyra and ran off to talk with someone in the crowd. Meyra placed the scale in her pocket with Noven. The Lonai cuddled with it, holding it close in its tiny arms.
Not long after, Meyra saw Grayelle in the crowd. They were easy to identify with their tall statue, silvery hair, and crystalline horns. He had long crystals with flowers embedded in his hair. The crystals glittered that were embedded in his loose dress-like robe.
