"Ellis, can you come?" Richard asked his wife. She was having a bad day but he still had decided tl go see their daughter together

He had a feeling she would calm down once she saw her daughter laying down, sensing that she had to behave

"Mama, I like movies." Grace muttered as she was laying down with her mother as they were watching movies

"Me too.." Meredith nodded tiredly when they heard someone knock on the door

"Richard.." Derek opened the door, only to see Ellis stand beside him. "Get out, please." He asked

"Excuse me? I'm doctor Grey!" Ellis' eyes went dark

"Mama-" Grace whimpered and curled into Meredith's side, recognizing her grandma's voice

"Please Richard, don't do this." Derek blocked the entrance

"We just wanna check on Meredith." He sighed

"You're always welcome but we both know Ellis won't do any good for Mer." He stepped out and closed the door, hearing his daughter whimpering and seeing his wife's eyes widening as she was honestly terrified to see her mom in her current state

"Why can't I go into my patient's room? Why is this intern blocking us from going in, Richard?" Ellis demanded, crossing her arms as she looked through the window and didn't recognize her own daughter or granddaughter

"Ellis, it's Meredith.." Richard sighed. "I told you what happened to her, she was in an accident. We were stepping by, remember?"

"Meredith? Was she being reckless once again? That kid- So annoying, never does anything normal!" She sighed

"Meredith is the best!" Derek said through gritted teeth, hating to hear how she spoke about the love of his life

"Meredith?" Ellis laughed harshly. "I wish I never had her!"

Grace flinched as she heard Ellis raising her voice, accidentally bumping roughly into her mom, making her slip from the pillow which caused her to be laying very uncomfortable but she was unable to fix it by herself

"Der-" Meredith tried to reach out but he didn't hear her

"Mommy!" Grace whimpered, holding tighter onto Meredith but she felt the pressure on her bad side where they had stitched up a nasty cut. It was as if the stitches were about to rip if she'd lay here any longer

"Leave us, you're not seeing her, Ellis!" Derek said angrily, getting back into the room, not caring how Richard now had to calm Ellis down who was clearly very upset

"Daddy!" Grace whimpered, only then he saw how Meredith had slipped off the pillow

"Mer-" He went to help sit her up again, only then he saw the sheets were red, he immediately had a feeling she ripped some stitches and pressed the alarm button

"Dr Shepherd?" A nurse hurried inside as she had also heard what had happened earlier with Richard and Ellis

"We need Bailey!" Derek ordered, seeing his daughter absolutely terrified. "And page Dr Sloan as well please."

"What's wrong?" Bailey ran inside

"She's bleeding, we need to fix her stitches." Derek ordered and started to work on her

"It's fine monkey." Meredith said, hating that things didn't go their normal way. She was frustrated that things went so roughly, that she had no control over anything anymore

"Does it hurt?" Grace asked her mom

"What?" Meredith asked confused

"Your ouwies." Grace frwoend

"They hurt." Meredith nodded. "But you and daddy and the doctors help me." She muttered, pulling her daughter close with her working arm

Bailey quickly finished stitching Meredith up again, despite Meredith's winces

"Why was Richard outside of the room? Ellis looked upset." Bailey said as she had obviously noticed

"They came to visit. We're not allowing Ellis inside." Derek said sternly, they heard Meredith sigh in response

"I'm sorry." Bailey sighed and finished stitching up her former intern, she stroke her hand over Meredith's shoulder

"It's okay now." Derek nodded

"I think the three of you deserve a long nap, what do you think?" Bailey suggested

"Yes!" Grace giggled, once again cuddling into her mom's side and a bit annoyed by the bulky and hard brace

"I'll help you reposition your arm and leg, that's gonna feel better." Bailey informed and helped her to adjust the pillows while Derek sat down on the chair next to Meredith

"My back hurts-" Meredith groaned

"Shepherd, can you help?" Bailey asked as they lifted her a bit, which made her wince, but then placed her down again and reclining the bed

"Thanks." Meredith muttered half asleep since she was absolutely exhausted

"You're welcome, Grey. Take some rest and let your body heal. Shepherd, you know the deal. Page us if anything is up and take some rest. Bye bye Grace!" Bailey left the room

Meredith drifted off almost right away, closely followed by Grace

Derek watched them sleep for a while, Meredith's toes often flinching which made her wince in pain. He covered her leg by the blanket and drifted off as well, hoping that for once he wouldn't wake up bh the nightmare that has been haunting him since Meredith's accident…
