Single father Shadow, Teacher Amy.

'Knock knock'

Shadow the hedgehog knocked firmly on the door that is the classroom where his son is.

"Come in."

Was heard from inside as a female voice response to the knocking, but before Shadow could open the door, it was pulled open for him, and in the door stands his son, beaming with huge eyes up at his dad, smiling.

"Dad."

Greets the small white hedgehog at the bigger hedgehog that is his father.

"Hey Silver."

Replies Shadow and pats his son on the head, giving him a tiny smile in return before he looks up to see who else was in the classroom. By the front desk sits Amy Rose, a female hedgehog, with very bright pink fur and green eyes. She stands up from her seat, smiling as she watches her student greet his father. She walks over towards them to greet Shadow, reaching her hand out to him.

"Good day Mister Shadow, glad you could make time to come and talk."

Says the teacher politely, her smile never leaving. Silver steps aside to make room for his teacher to greet his father, his smile grew bigger as she watched the two adults shake hands.

"Of course. I know I have a busy schedule, but when it comes to Silver, I try my best to keep up any meetings there is, Miss Rose"

Replies Shadow, as he gently shakes the teacher's hand, and gives her a soft smile as well.

"Please come and sit down, as there are some things we may need to discuss."

Says Amy, she steps aside for him to enter the classroom, while she tries to control the blush she could feel on her cheeks. Silver pulls at his father's hand to guide him over to the chair for him in front of the desk, still very eager for his dad to be there.

"Silver, calm down."

Says Shadow to his son, he lifts his arm, only for Silver to be hanging onto him, giggling as he dangles on his father's arm, Shadow smirks while rolling his eyes over his son's playfulness. Amy could only smile at the interaction between father and son.

Shadow sits down while Amy closes the door behind them. Silver grabs his own chair and pulls it over to sit next to his father, his tail wagging as his eyes flicker between the two adults.

Amy sits back behind the desk and takes out a couple of papers, she looks them over shortly before she looks at the small family in front of her.

"So, just to be sure, there is nothing serious to bring up about Silver. Silver is a great kid, he does his homework, he hands in his school work on time at most part, he helps the other students to try to understand some of their schoolwork, he never misbehaves. Overall, you have a bright son."

Says Amy as she hands the papers to Shadow so he can look at some of the notes and grades he got from not only her, but also from other teachers. Pleased to hear this as he looks the papers over, Shadow still raises an eyebrow.

"So if he is doing so well, then why am I called in?"

Asks Shadow as he looks at his son next to him who now looks off to the side, still smiling, but in a more shy way now. Amy looks at Silver as well, a small sigh escapes from her.

"Silver, care to tell your father what you said to me the other day?"

She asks, smiling sweetly at him. Silver rocks back and forth on his chair a little, his smile now slowly leaving his face. Shadow gets a bit worried.

"I... I miss mom..."

Says Silver shyly, still rocking on his chair. He then feels a big hand on his back. Looking up, he sees his dad patting his back.
