Reverie

In the realm of love's intricate dance,
Our souls entwined, taking a chance.
Words clung to your feet, as embers burned, 
When my letter vanished, your heart discerned.

Flowers plucked from pages old,
A memory of the giver's soul. 
A river of tears, it had to flow,
For love's presence and separation to show.

Wishes bloomed within our hearts, 
Yet destiny's hand tore them apart.
The cascade of dreams, it had to cease,
In the tapestry of fate, finding release. 

Do you recall the theft of my heart,
Where stolen became a sacred part?
We wear the same faces, you and I,
But both lost souls, longing to fly.

Love made me a sceptic, estranged from belief, 
Yet still, I wander, seeking solace and relief.
In the depths of your heart, where I roamed, 
The path I took, remains unknown.

You spoke of whispering my name in prayer,
Fearful that love's plea would find no air.
But those words were mere illusions, dear, 
Necessity demanded their end, it's clear.

In this poetic symphony, our story is told, 
Where love and separation expertly unfold.
From the ashes of our intertwined past,
A cruel reminder that some ties won't last.
