Empty Promises

Why did you get my hopes up?
Why did you promise things you knew you'll never do?
Experiences I would never experience.
Dreams crushed.
A genie with no wishes.
A fantasy with no happy ending.
That's what you are.
A dream that will never come true.
Do you even know what you've promised anymore?
Or do you just do it to keep me happy in the moment?
Don't you want me to be happy forever?
Or does my happiness not mean anything to you?
Was it ever really real?
or did you get what you wanted and now your satisfied?
And all I'm left with is a bunch of empty promises.
