Music: High by the beach❄️, Lana Del Rey
St Petersburg, Russia
Lorelei found herself in a familiar position that night, following a target, waiting for him outside a nightclub.
She hid in the shadows of a back alley, perfectly concealed. Her target that night was a man who owed a couple drug lords mass amounts of debt, he'd been on the run ever since. But now she'd caught him, and the price on his head would be worth the trouble.
Soon enough she spotted him stumbling out of the club. The streets were quiet, and he was alone.
Perfect. Her heart raced as it did every time the moment approached, f#ck.
Stop thinking about it, what's more blood on your hands anyway?
She hesitantly took her necklace out from under her dress, it held a tiny clear bottle filled with cocaine. She brought the bottle up to her nose and inhaled the substance.
She knew it was stupid to keep this up, but she was ashamed to admit she couldn't finish a job without it.She put her bottle away, and she held her gun in her hand and turned on the silencer, aiming for his heart.
She was right on the edge of taking the shot, she could feel her muscles tense with focus, when suddenly everything fell apart.
A bullet came from above and shot the man right through the skull. Who the hell was trying to take her target?
Not today. She kept herself hidden, and waited for whoever was trying to fuck her over to appear on one of the overhead buildings.
She noticed a shadow creep down from one of the structures.
Very tall, probably a man, dark clothes. But she couldn't make out his face until he stepped into the light....
Her blood ran cold when she recognized his features. The man who'd killed her parents.
The Black Kaiser. The dim streetlights made it clear who she was dealing with. Up until now, she'd only heard whispers and descriptions of the illicit Black Kaiser.
Those who'd seen him rarely came back unscathed, her parents an example of thatHe had dark greying hair, a mustache, all black clothing, and he was probably closer to the size of a bear than a man.
He fit the description perfectly.
And judging by the picture he'd just taken of the body, he had been assigned the same target as her.
Lorelei was ballsy, that was for sure.
But she wasn't arrogant enough to think she had a chance here.
So she just stood hidden in the shadows of the alley, frozen in shock. The cautionary tales she'd heard around the underworld about him, played over in the back of her mind.
It had been a long time since she'd felt this kind of fear. Every second of it was torture.
Long ago she'd promised herself she'd never have to feel this way again.
But here she was shaking like a child, her gun quivering in her hands.Suddenly he cocked his head up, as if he'd heard something. F#ck.
He turned her way, and took a step towards where she was hidden.
He heard the sounds of someone shaking. But he had ignored it until the familiar sound of cold metal clicking rang in his ears.
He thought about shooting, but it could've just been an overly prepared citizen.
And honestly he didn't feel like shedding any more blood tonight."You don't have to do this." He said in a deep gravelly voice.
She noticed an accent, but couldn't quite place it.She didn't answer, she couldn't manage to process the words.
She just stood with her gun still in hand.
He stepped toward her again."P-lease, please... Don't."
She said shakily dropping her gun in the snow.He flinched at the sound of her voice, surprised to hear a young woman.
He was tempted to get closer to see her face, but he didn't want to frighten her anymore than he already had.
Instead he just gave her a reassuring nod.
"I'm walking away now." He said slowly walking off into the cover of the night. She caught her breath, her heartbeat slowed.
Dammit, she'd come face to face with one of the most famous assassins in the world, the man she'd sworn to kill for what he'd done to her family.
And all she could do was shake like a leaf?On the bright side he hadn't seen her face, that could've brought trouble.
Considering her platinum blonde hair could've given her identity away, as it was sort of her staple.
But now she was just left with a heavy feeling of regret.
She could've tried to get revenge, even if it killed her.
Of all the times to freeze up.She'd let him get away with little to no trouble at all. She couldn't help but feel like a f#cking idiot.
The next time she crossed paths with him, she vowed to be ready.
She'd train until it hurt, do job after job until she ran into him again. He'd pay for what he'd done, and she'd make sure it hurt like hell.
