Music: Music To Watch Boys To🩸, Lana Del Rey

Making her way back to the party, Lorelei felt her whole world shaking.

She felt like she shouldn't have come here, maybe she'd made a mistake?

Duncan deserved to die, that much was clear to her.
But the way he'd so quickly caught her hand, disarming her immediately.

she'd need a new strategy.

The plan was simple, she'd follow him and witness him kill Mr Angellini, and pretend to be horrified.

If he was still the same man he was back in St Petersburg, the same man he had been when she watched him...
Kill her parents.
Her plan would work.

Throughout the night she watched him from afar, observing as Mr Angellini joined the crowd.

Duncan was focused on the job, watching his target with that intense gaze of his.

Eventually she saw Mr Angellini head outside into a back alley, he brought one of his security guards with him.

Unfortunately for him, his death had been sealed as soon as he stepped foot out those doors.

Seeing Duncan follow him out there, she trailed behind.
Game on.

She messed up her hair a little, and took off her heels. She felt like adding a little bit of flare to her plan.
Let the show begin!

She got into character and stumbled out into the back alley, she muttered to herself something like,
"Tequila shouldn't be allowed in churches."

She immediately noticed the dead bodies and Duncan hiding in a dark corner of the alley.

But she played it off perfectly like she was too foggy eyed, and stuck in her own little world to notice yet.

Then she turned her eyes to the bodies, she stood up her legs shaking, almost stumbling.
She made a face that said she was about to scream, just as she'd expected Duncan lunged forward and covered her mouth with his hand tightly.

She started hyperventilating, stumbling over and losing her balance.
She would've fallen but Duncan caught her before she hit the ground.
Easy, sooo f#cking easy.

She fell delicately into his arms, he looked down at her worriedly.

"Who... Who did this?" She said her voice quivering, as she pushed a single tear out of her eye.

"I don't know, I'm so sorry you had to see that."
He looked genuinely sorry, like he actually felt bad?

"So you... I'm sorry I don't mean to accuse you of anything... But you didn't?"

She wanted to see how easily he lied to her face, she wanted a reason to stab him now.

"Miss... Lorelei I'm so... So sorry."
He said sadly, why wasn't he lying?

He was practically giving himself away, what kind of assassin would ever do that?
It almost made her angry.

Angry that he was still human, more human than she was.

"What are you saying?"
She said pushing herself to fully cry.

"I... I won't lie to you. I've done enough, lord knows I've done enough."
He replied.

She had planned to catch him by surprise, but she couldn't bring herself to do it.
It was stupid, but she needed it to be satisfying. This was just sad.

She let go of him and stepped out of his arms, walking in a perfectly straight line, throwing her heels to the side.
A cold grin painted face, her tears had disappeared.

He looked at her in disbelief, was she in shock. Or was she...

Before he could think she slammed her elbow into his chest.
Almost causing him to fall.

She wanted a fight now, she could've had it easy, but she needed to see him for the monster she wanted him to be.

He came at her swinging, she dodged his fist and got behind him and twisted his arm.
"Ugh f#cking hell." He groaned as she pulled it back harder.

He managed to sweep her leg beneath her and knock her down.
He pulled out his gun and went to pull the trigger.

Before he could she kicked it out of his hand, it went flying across the alley.
She lunged for it, but he caught her leg and pulled her back aggressively.

She grabbed the knife hidden in her garter, and stabbed him in the leg.

"I should've taken that from you when I had a chance, goddamnit."
He said wincing in pain.

Despite the knife in his leg, he picked her back up by the neck and slammed her against the wall.

"Who f#cking sent you."
He said yelling in her face.

"Pers-onal, interest."
She said gasping for air, trying to pry his hands off her neck.

"Oh as if I believe th- AH!"
Before he could finish she'd kicked him in the balls so hard she found a window to break free.

Crawling under him she hooked her leg around his ankle and knocked him over.

He fell to the ground hitting his head pretty hard on the cement.
He laid there only half conscious.

She grabbed his gun off the ground and chuckled pointing it at him.

"I... I remember you. The little Czech girl."
He said looking up at the woman who was about to kill him, he felt nothing but guilt and pity.

Of all the things he could've said to her right now, that was probably the worst.
